November is National Family Caregivers Month. According to AARP, family caregivers spend about 24 hours each week providing care for family members. But for others, it’s a full-time job. What better way to celebrate than by offering some “care” to a caregiver who you know? Here are some ideas (please share others in the comments):

• Express your appreciation for their dedication and hard work
• Ask for an update about the person they care for
• Plan a day to take them out for a meal or movie
• Ask what you can do to give them a “break”

The Great American Smokeout® takes place every third Thursday of November. It’s the perfect day to make a plan to quit—either for yourself or a loved one.

Quitting is hard. But research shows that encouragement and support from friends and family members goes a long way. Please like or share this post to motivate family and friends to seek a new start.

November 12 is Diwali, the “festival of lights.” An official holiday in India, Singapore, and other South Asian countries, this day celebrates light, goodness, freedom, and enlightenment. Derived from the Sanksrit word dipavali, the Diwali name literally means “row of lights.” Those observing this holiday celebrate by placing candles and clay lamps throughout their homes and streets to light up the night. It usually falls on the new Moon, when the sky is its darkest.

To light up our page, leave a comment with your favorite “light” emoji or GIF.
