Public secondary school, grades 9-12. Mascot: Lions. Colors: Green & Red. Principal: Dr. Jodi Weber The campus is located northwest of downtown Phoenix, AZ, USA.
Alhambra High School is part of the Phoenix Union High School District. Alhambra has a diverse student population comprised of: Hispanic: 77.8%, African American: 8.7%, Asian: 5.7%, Anglo: 5.5%, Native American: 1.2%, & other 1.1%. ambra for its Phoenix Union Magnet Program—Medical and Health Studies.
The Alhambra campus comprises approximately four square blocks and is located on the South side of Camelback Road, between 37th and 39th Avenues. It shares its floor plan/campus layout with its "sister school", Maryvale High School, located at the corner of 59th Avenue and Osborn. from Superintendent Dr. Chad Gestson:
----------------------------------------
Dear Families,
Thank you for your continued support and trust in Phoenix Union. The health, safety, and wellness of your student remains our top priority.
Although we cautiously allowed sports conditioning this summer, community spread of COVID still far exceeds state and county benchmarks outlining the safe return to school. In order to maintain the safety of our student-athletes and coaches, we have decided to postpone all in-person sports practices and competition until it is safe to do so. The attachment to this message provides more information regarding this decision.
We are also fully aware that sports is not the only important activity that connects and engages our students. Performing and Fine Arts, JROTC, clubs, and many other programs are critically important to both our staff and students. Once state and county health benchmarks are met, we will also consider the safe return of these important activities.
Thank you again for your continued commitment to your child’s education. Please contact your school with questions or if you are in need of any support.
