Did you know that practicing mindfulness increases your emotional regulation abilities? 🧘

Various studies have shown that mindful intervention promotes emotional regulation and reactivity. Results shown that certain qualities of mindfulness helps provide individuals with the ability to notice and engage with stressful emotions in an adaptive way! Which results in reduced negative emotions 🧠

By practicing mindfulness you can rebalance your thinking and identify stressors and other negative feelings. This promotes greater self-understanding and overall a better perspective on challenges faced in your day-to-day life!😊

Did you know that stress and anxiety impact your memory? 🧠

Stress and anxiety are two feelings commonly faced in our day-to-day lives. But what impact does that have on our memory? 👀 Anxiety is a state of heightened vigilance which leads to an increase in overall sensory sensitivity due to uncertainty or other stressful factors. A characteristic feature of anxiety is the limited control over worrying thoughts and greater focus on negative stimuli in your environment🙅🏽‍♂️

It has been shown in several studies that anxiety and stress have a direct impact on your cognitive functioning- specifically your working memory. Your working memory is a cognitive system with a limited capacity that can temporarily hold information. Working memory is essential for our reasoning and the guidance of decision-making and behavior🧠🌟

See how skipping your morning meditation on an important day could be a bad idea?

Did you know exercise can improve your energy levels? 🏃🏽🏃🏽

Contrary to popular belief, exercising doesn't make you tired! It actually creates energy in your body. Your body accepts the challenge for more energy by becoming stronger on a CELLULAR LEVEL! (Shoutout to our mitochondria🏋🏻‍♀️)

Just about any type of exercise will help to fight fatigue, but how long you do it, as well as how often, will also play a relevant part in its efficacy. It has been studied that if a sedimentary individual begins to exercise, they enhance the blood flow carrying oxygen and nutrients to your muscle tissue- therefore improving your ability to produce more adenosine triphosphate (ATP) aka ENERGY.
