Let's have a sandwich ! Luscious Limericks is serving the World's Greatest Sandwiches today!

A ravenous fellow named Pete,
Built a sandwich of crispy smoked meat.
With tomato and green,
And some mayo between,
He crunched it all down in one beat!

A hungry young fellow named Dan,
Dropped butter and bread in the pan.
With a flip and a squeeze,
And a mountain of cheese,
He ate it much faster than planned!

A slab of Gruyère on some ham,
Was toasted as flat as a clam.
Then some Béchamel sauce
Gave the sandwich a gloss,
And it leaked all over my jam!

The pork and the ham were compressed,
With pickles and mustard well-dressed.
But the heavy Swiss cheese
Made me pop at the knees,
When the panini-iron finally pressed!

A gluttonous fellow named Ned,
Fried ham and Swiss cheese between bread.
With a dip in some batter
And jam on the platter,
He woke up a week later in bed!

The olive salad was piled up so high,
On a massive round loaf that could fly.
With the ham and salami,
It tasted tsunami,
And squirted right into my eye!

The roast beef was stacked in a bun,
And dipping it in was the fun.
But a splash of au jus
Drenched my favorite shoes,
Before the first bite was begun!

A hungry young diner named Ben,
Ordered Reuben again and again.
With the kraut and the meat,
It was messy to eat,
Now he’s wiping the juice off his chin!

A French roll was stuffed to the gills,
With fried shrimp to cure all your ills.
But a giant-sized bite
Sent the lettuce in flight,
And the mayo ran down to my frills!

A mountain of beef on a roll,
With Cheez Whiz to capture your soul.
It dripped down the chin,
Midst a greasy-lipped grin,
And ruined his shirt on the whole!

A clumsy young fellow named Claude,
Spread peanut juice thick and abroad.
When the jelly was smashed,
The two textures clashed,
Now his jaw is completely lock-jawed!

A ravenous fellow named Jake,
Packed a baguette with slices of steak.
With a monster-sized bite,
And his jaws locked up tight,
He chewed till his cheekbones did ache!

Luscious Limericks goes to the Sea

A steaming hot bowl full of cream,
Is a seafood enthusiast's dream.
With plenty of clams,
And some diced up smoked hams,
It's the ultimate comfort supreme!

There once was a salmon named Pete,
Whose swimming was quite a grand feat.
He leaped up the stream,
To fulfill his life's dream,
While dodging the bears for a treat!

A clever young swimmer named Trout,
Loved to splash all the lilies about.
With a flash of his fin,
And a speckled-green grin,
He’d leap from the stream with a shout!

A flat little fish in the sea,
As deeply content as can be,
With both eyes on one side,
Where the halibut hide,
He’s swimming quite sideways and free!

A creature with tentacles ten,
Was caught by a fisherman, then—
It was sliced into rings,
Fried with crunchy good things,
And dipped in mari-na-ra again!

A crisp, golden fish in a shell,
With salsa and lime tasting well,
A splash of crema,
A taco supreme-a,
A flavor that casts a sweet spell!

A handsome young lobster named Clyde,
Had a shell he would flaunt with great pride.
But he stayed in his bed,
Lest he turn a bright red,
With some butter and lemon inside!

A swift mahi mahi in blue,
Through tropical waters just flew.
With a neon-bright gleam,
Like a fisherman's dream,
He flashed every brilliant green hue!

A sleek, ruby fish in the deep,
Never pauses to look or to sleep.
With a flash of bright fin,
And a seared, sesame skin,
On the plate, it’s a culinary leap!

A sizzle, a flash, and a sear,
Brings a scallop its golden veneer.
With a center so sweet,
It’s a buttery treat,
That vanishes fast from the pier!

A tiny crustacean named Pip,
Decided to go for a dip.
With a flick of his tail,
He out-swam a big whale,
And escaped from a seafood-sauce trip!

A slice of fresh tuna or bream,
Is a seafood fanatic’s fond dream.
With a dip in the soy,
It’s a mouthful of joy,
And it tastes just as smooth as cold cream!

A golden-fried cod on a plate,
Is a treat that I highly underrate.
With a splash of vinegar,
It couldn't look winn-egar,
And chips that taste absolutely great!

Luscious Limericks is snacking today !

There once was a chip made of spud,
With a crunch that was heard like a thud.
You’d take just one bite,
But they tasted so right,
You’d finish the bag with a flood!

There once was a crunchy, fried snack,
That came in a cellophane pack.
With a crisp, salty bite,
And a porky delight,
You'll eat 'em till your jaws start to crack!

There once was a snack with a twist,
Whose salty appeal was dismissed.
But baked to a brown,
The best treat in town,
It’s a crunch that is hard to resist!

There once was a chip called Doritos,
More loved than tacos or burritos.
With a crunch and a zing,
And a cheesy orange cling,
It's the king of the late-night weirdos.

There once was a crunchy orange treat,
That people just loved to go eat.
With a powdery dust,
It’s a cheesy-snack must,
And it stains all your fingertips neat!

There once was a snack in a bowl,
Whose variety captured my soul.
With pretzels and Chex,
It was pure crunchy sex—
I gobbled up every last bowl !

There once was a kernel of maize,
That sat in a sizzle and haze.
With a sudden KA-POP!
It turned inside-opt,
And emerged in a buttery daze.

Pasta Haiku for Tuesday

Twirling on the fork,
It slaps me right in the eye—
Now my shirt is red.

Steam rises up high,
Slurp the noodles with a grin,
Splashed broth in my eye.

A twisty pasta,
Spinning like a DNA
Spiral of pure carb.

Pillows made of dough,
Heavy as a bowling ball,
Nap time follows next.

Long ribbons of dough,
Drowned in butter and cream sauce,
Goodbye, summer waist.
