10 students from the Student Tech Team attained the Acer Repair Techspert Qualification.
In this self-paced e-learning program, students were introduced to basic hardware repair best practices.

• Technical Skills Assessment

For the final assessment, the students demonstrated their technical skills by replacing the mainboard and the LCD screen of a Chromebook.

This Black Catholic History Month, we honor the incredible life of St. Josephine Bakhita, a beacon of faith and resilience. Born in Sudan, she was tragically kidnapped and enslaved at a young age, enduring unimaginable hardships. St. Josephine found solace in her faith, eventually converting to Catholicism. After gaining her freedom, she entered the Canossian Sisters and dedicated her life to God's service, emphasizing love and forgiveness. Let's honor her legacy by reflecting on the power of faith, forgiveness, and the pursuit of justice. St. Josephine Bakhita, Pray for us!

Last weekend the robotics team competed in an FTC Robotics Tournament at Gilbert Christian High School against 24 other teams. The robot achieved everything that it had been designed and programmed to do and completed many challenges. After the qualifying rounds the Bourgade Electric Eagles were lying 11th, their highest-ever placement. They were third for the Motivate Award and received very positive feedback from the judges. It was a great learning experience for the team and they are looking forward to making improvements before the next tournament in January. Great job team #9695!

Members of the Robotics Team, Student Tech Team and AP Computer Science attended GCU's Tech Xperience Day.
They attended sessions on Virtual Reality, Embedded Programming, and Game Development. They were introduced to career paths in the fields of computer engineering and programming. The hands-on sessions were very informative and they helped some of the students with their choices of degrees at college.

Last week 30 members of our school community - students, faculty, and staff - enjoyed a beautiful Kairos retreat in Prescott. Kairos means “God’s Time,” and this time was spent in small groups, hearing talks from student leaders, times of prayer, lots of fun on the mountain, and many graces. Many friendships were made and deepened.

Yesterday our Intro to Healthcare students attended a field trip to the U of A Medical School downtown. 💙⭐🦅
It was a hands-on experience as our students explored the medical school. Dr. Corral is doing great work with our students. The students exhibited some of the amazing skills they have developed from the class to the exercises provided on this trip.
They all represented the school well.

Chemistry students tested out different models for the Rutherford Gold Foil Experiment, and compared their results with the results from the historic experiment to understand how Ernest Rutherford determined that the atom had a small, positively charged nucleus.

Yesterday our Sophomores had a day of service at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul! Students spent the day serving in various locations on the SVdP campus, including their farm which grows fresh produce for local families in need and locations in their resource center. In addition, they heard a presentation on homelessness and finished the day by making Thanksgiving cards for those served by St. Vincent de Paul. Students worked so hard and served beautifully!

Bourgade Catholic Girls Volleyball partnered with Pueblo Del Sol to complete their team service project! 🏐
They worked on designing a mural for the students and community of Pueblo Del Sol to enjoy as well as helped with cleaning up around campus.
We are proud of the servant leaders these girls are. They set a wonderful example of what we are all about at Bourgade Catholic High School.
Pueblo Del Sol Principal, Mrs. Griselda Cohen, said "It was amazing to see the heart and love with which they supported our campus. They are great role models for the students here at Pueblo and our community. We would love to partner with you in the future. I was especially excited to see the interactions between after school athletes and your team."

All proceeds from tonight’s ticket, shirt sales, and silent auction are being donated to the Arce family, a family of the BCHS community who is fighting breast cancer.
