Wow, What an exciting day Tuesday was! Jerry Pallotta, award-winning author of children’s alphabet books and popular Who Would Win books, visited our students. Jerry has a passion for learning and writing about animals. He shared stories that inspired some of his most popular literature. We were also treated to a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s really like to be an author and where he gets his inspiration from. Thank you so much Jerry!

On Friday Fifth-grade teacher Nicole Lamoureaux won a $1,000 check from the Arizona Diamondbacks and Avnet through the Read Your Way to the Ballpark program. The prize will go toward new books for her classroom!

Students from multiple classrooms celebrated with a visit from Baxter the Bobcat, enjoyed storytime, and answered trivia questions to win prizes!

Turn In Reading Logs For Free Books!
Today we set up our Reading Wall, every month students have the opportunity to earn a free book by turning in their reading logs! Keep track of the minutes you read (or someone reads to you) outside of school, refer to our reading key and fill in the photos accordingly.

Reading Wall Days: Sept. 2nd,Oct. 14th, Nov. 4th, Dec. 2nd, Jan. 6th, Feb. 10th, Mar. 3rd, May 5th ( No reward in April due to testing).

🌎 Geographers at work! Today, 5th graders in Mr. McCormick’s class investigated the United States through a geographer’s lens. Students analyzed factors such as temperature, population density, elevation, and more to develop and defend their own ways of dividing the country into regions. 🗺️ There’s more than one way to draw a region—and our geographers had the evidence to prove it!
