At a time when many schools are using reading lists to pursue political agendas, PVCP believes that educating students in the Great Books of Western Civilization not only builds a shared base of culture, but it produces well-rounded individuals. At PVCP, your students will read the classics, such as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Great Gatsby, Pride and Prejudice, Romeo and Juliet, Crime and Punishment, To Kill a Mockingbird, Dante's Inferno, and much more.
Earlier in the fall, PVCP students assembled care packages to send to PVCP alumnus Josiah Utz and his Army unit stationed in Poland. The packages have finally arrived, and Josiah and his unit send their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the PVCP families for generously blessing them with snacks, hand-warmers, and socks. Continue to lift up Josiah, other PVCP alumni serving in the Armed Forces, and all of our military personnel serving around the world.
"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." - I Timothy 2:1-4
Happy birthday to the Great State of Arizona!
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father,

Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
as thou hast been, thou forever wilt be.
- Thomas Chisholm, 1923

Psalm 139:1-18
1 O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
3 You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
4 Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
5 You hem me in, behind and before,
and lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high; I cannot attain it.
7 Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9 If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light about me be night,”
12 even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is bright as the day,
for darkness is as light with you.
13 For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[a]
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
I awake, and I am still with you.

“Our students will face doubts and concerns regarding their faith. If we want them to defend the faith instead of walking away from it, we should ensure they really know what they’re trying to defend.”
Great insight from Phoenix Seminary placing church history and theology in their rightful place alongside apologetics! PVCP’s comprehensive middle and upper school Bible curriculum not only includes in-depth surveys of the Old and New Testaments, but also two apologetics courses, systematic theology, church history, and worldview analysis, with our upper school students utilizing some of the texts recommended by the author.
Why Your Student Ministry Needs Theology Proper and Church History - Phoenix Seminary If you take a look around most student ministry series, conferences, and curriculum you’ll see one word that consistently pops off the page—“apologetics.” The teen years are full of questions, debates, and crises of faith. So naturally the defense of the faith is a common subject. Apologetic...

yet he opened not his mouth;
like a lamb that is led to the slaughter,
and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent,
so he opened not his mouth. - Isaiah 53:7
