Before Thanksgiving break, Dr. Hojreh and his class went on a field trip to Pepsico. They were given an introduction to the plant by the plant manager and learned about the green facilities that use two types of solar energy.

NJHS members volunteered at the GARDEN OF TOMORROW in Phoenix. Part of a non-profit organization-Tiger Mountain Foundation. Students learned how to harvest and garden. In volunteering their time students were able to build practical life skills while helping their local community.

MIT students in the Forensics Club and Forensics classes took a field trip to Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) and received an overview of Forensics. They observed a mock crime scene, learned about collecting evidence with the Mesa Police Department - CSI, and toured the campus. Dr. Anderson coordinated the field trip with Ms. Martinez, the Program Director of the Administration Justice Studies and Forensic Science Department. What a great experience!

The National Honor Society students have taken the initiative to support MIT students with their academics. As a part of this, the NHS students will be available in the reading room every Thursday from 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. to assist MIT students with their homework and other assignments.

We would like to thank our school counselor Mrs. Walker, the NHS Advisor Mrs. Gandhi, and all NHS student volunteers for planning and providing this opportunity.

MIT’s Media Club recently released its first broadcast of 2023, covering all events from Quarter 1. During the creation of the broadcast, new members got to learn what goes on behind the scenes and how to use certain equipment such as operating a camera, planning scenes, editing a video, and more.

For those interested in learning more, the Media Club will have meetings every Tuesday in Ms. Montiel's classroom.
