Our boundaries run from Dunlap Avenue to the north, Northern Avenue to the south and from the I-17 Freeway east to 16th Street. We also serve a section of the neighborhood between Cactus Road and Peoria Avenue, running between 19th and 15th Avenues. Students who attend Royal Palm have access to a rich curriculum aligned to Arizona College and Career Ready Standards. Our school received a “B” rating by the Arizona Department of Education for the 2013-2014 school year. Royal Palm staff continues to strive to provide best, first instruction through large group and differentiated small group instruction, to increase student engagement, and to deliver timely corrective and positive feedback to students in their lessons. The staff also focuses its data talks to make decisions to best meet the needs of all students every day. Royal Palm offers a Core Knowledge program at each grade level to qualified students as an advanced placement preparatory for high school. Royal Palm houses a resource program, a Cross-Categorical Behavior (CCB) program, and an autism program to meet our students’ varied educational needs. We utilize modern technology such as SMART Boards and document cameras, as well as our four computer labs and two mobile laptop labs. Royal Palm provides art, general music, band, strings, chorus, technology classes and PE for all grade levels. We also have special offerings such as Studio Art/Web Design. Algebra and geometry are offered for high school credit to qualifying, recommended students. Royal Palm offers Read 180, computer-based reading program, to assist in improving reading skills.
