Wow what a interesting Arizona Collectibles this week, during taping of the episodes I areally never get to see what my fellow appraisers are doing. This week was especially interesting historically and value wise. My segment was about "midwife" jewelry and a iron ring given in place of the gold wedding band donated to the Austrian Government in WW1, You can watch the show on the link above episode #304

This week we had a fantastic antique, 18k gold repeating pocket watch by Patek Philippe, the original owner served in the US Civil war as a General for the Union, he was wounded at the Battle of Shiloh. After the war he became a US Senator for California. He then received this watch as a gift in 1874, He passed away a few years later. Then the watch was handed down through the family till the Great Depression when his family traded it for food and supplies in the 1930s, The new family that received it in trade has it today. Great story.
