Today was Read Across America Day – an annual celebration of reading school-wide. Students, teachers, and staff celebrated by dressing as their favorite storybook character and enjoyed listening to guest readers. A big thank you to everyone for joining in on all the fun and sharing their love for reading!
Today, our 3rd - 5th grade students had a blast at Field Day! Students participated in events such as: Basketball Dribble Station, Basketball Shoot, Long Jump, Soccer Shoot, High Jump, 100-yard Dash, and more! A huge thank-you to Mr. Distler for your hard work in organizing and setting up the stations, parent volunteers for doing such a great job running each event, and teachers for your help and support! Enjoy the pictures from today! ☀️
In honor of Read Across America, students and staff may dress up on Wednesday, March 2nd as their favorite storybook character for the day. We look forward to seeing everyone all dressed up for this fun celebration.
Good morning, Patriots! Today is Field Day for 3rd-5th graders! Students are encouraged to bring a hat, water bottle, and wear sunscreen. Have a great day of fun in the sun!!
What a terrific field day for kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders! Students participated in events such as: Scooter Fun, Long Jump, Soccer Shoot, 100-yard Dash, and many more! Not only was the weather perfect, but it was wonderful to see all of the sportsmanship among our young Patriots. They were being so kind and supportive of one another. Thank-you to Mr. Distler, teachers, and all of the parent volunteers that helped make today possible. Enjoy the pictures! ❤️🤍💙
7th grade students in Mr. Walton's math class have been learning about the difference between experimental and theoretical probability. To see this concept in action, students played a game and collected data. Then, they compared their experimental results to the theoretical probability. Finally, the class combined the results from all groups to show the more trials you do, the closer the experimental probability gets to theoretical probability. Wow! What an effective (and fun) way to learn a new concept! Nice job, 7th graders! 🎲➕➖➗✖️👍
It’s Field Day for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders today! Field Day will begin right after breakfast. Students are encouraged to bring a hat and sunscreen. Have a BLAST today, Patriots!! ☀️

We got spirit! Yes, we do! One goal of the ALTS National Junior Honor Society is to foster a sense of community. This year they will again be offering families the opportunity to purchase a t-shirt with the name of their child’s teacher and homeroom custom graphic. Proceeds and donations will go towards buying t-shirts for students whose families may face financial hardships. Our goal is that every student has a class t-shirt. Help the NJHS create a strong ALTS community by purchasing a t-shirt today. The deadline to order is this Friday. The NJHS and Parent Guild will be set up in the cafeteria at Curriculum Night. Stop by and say hello!

Girl Scout Troop 7073 built a Buddy Bench for our playground! The girls said that they wanted kids to have a place to sit and talk. They built this themselves and it is solid! Thank you, girls, for this amazing gift!

Ice-cream anyone?

You might remember the attendance incentive we had during state testing. Mrs. Sproul kept track of every class who had 100% attendance on state testing days, and then drew one lucky class to win an ice-cream sundae party! That lucky class was Mrs. Wolf’s 5th graders! During the last week of school, students got to enjoy their delicious victory. You can tell from all the happy faces that this was one “sweet” party! 🍨❤️🤍💙🥳

Last week, Mrs. Dyck’s 2nd graders participated in a STEM project! Students were tasked with building a house to protect the pigs from the Big, Bad Wolf using only candy Dots and toothpicks. Once their house was finished, they also had to count the number of faces and vertices, as well as make a prediction about what will happen.

Finally, the Big Bad Wolf (otherwise known as the blow dryer) huffed and puffed and tried to blow the houses down! We just love when learning is solidified through a fun and engaging activity. Fantastic work, 2nd graders! 🐷❤️🤍💙🐺

What a joyous and festive occasion our 8th grade promotion was on Friday evening! Students led many parts of the promotion ceremony, and there were three fabulous student speakers that spoke eloquently and of the excitement of their future. Thank you to governing board Vice President, Mrs. Jenni Abbott-Bayardi, for sharing with our eighth grade students. Her speech was uplifting and “real”! Congratulations and best wishes to all our 8th grade students as they move to high school! ❤️🤍💙

Take look at the fantastic state posters from Ms. Devers’ class! The students spent a month researching so they could complete a six paragraph report, create a little book about their state, design a travel poster, and then present it to the class. They even enjoyed some treats from Florida, Illinois, Hawaii, Tennessee, Connecticut, Texas and many more!
