Cozy spots, curious minds, and a little extra magic make Flashlight Friday one of our favorite ways to get lost in a good book! 💚📖

Summit Students in Ms. Shoup’s class took their understanding of philosophy a step further this week by assigning four learned philosophers to various modern-day jobs that match their skill sets. The 7th graders used information compiled in fictional resumes to determine which job suited each philosopher “job candidate!”

Next, the 7th graders were introduced to the available jobs in My Classroom Economy! The catch? Now the students have to determine which job to pursue for themselves and put their persuasive technique into action by submitting a “job application.” One student has already submitted their own resume for the position “Teacher 2.0” Well done Sabrecats!

Our Summit Fifth Graders learned about decomposers in science class last week. They studied earthworms and learned they are great for gardens. Fifth grade worked with first grade to add worms to their gardens to help our pumpkin and pea plants grow.

At Summit, some of our most meaningful traditions happen when our youngest learners connect with our oldest students.

Our Preschool and 8th grade students build relationships through shared experiences, conversations, laughter, and friendship. These connections teach our youngest students that they belong to something bigger, while giving our 8th graders an opportunity to lead, mentor, and care for others.

It’s more than a visit. It’s community. It’s connection. It’s the Summit experience.

Cybercat Robotics recently visited Banner University Hospital in Phoenix to explore the advanced technology behind Da Vinci surgical robots. The team got a hands-on look at how precision engineering and automation are transforming modern medicine in the operating room. Thank you Dr. Jennifer Preston, Intuitive, and Banner Health for this opportunity.
