Our 4th grade hosted a Wax Museum that showcased their knowledge of a Founding Father or Notable Woman of the Colonial times. This has been a culminating project that has taken several months. Students did a research project, wrote an essay, designed their posters, memorized their speeches, and performed them for students and parents. The students worked so hard on this, and they were so excited to show what they learned. They did a phenomenal job! Expectations were set high, and they rose to the occasion. Great job, 4th grade!
Mrs. Bringhurst's kindergarten class read to their stuffies this morning!
Today was Patriot's Day for our 5th and 6th graders! After studying about the Revolutionary War for a few months, the students lived a day in the life of a boy or girl in late 1800s America. They made their own butter and prepared chicken stew and cornbread to eat for lunch. They made candles, whirligigs, cornhusk dolls and tin crafts. The girls sewed and had tea while the boys made hornbooks for school and learned military drills. To cap off their day, the students performed a colonial dance for parents. A special thank you to the 5th and 6th grade teachers and a large group of parent volunteers that made the day a great success!
