This week we had our first library and music classes and practiced the first fire drill of the year. Our friends also created self portraits, enjoyed 🍎 themed activities and built fine motor skills.

Our first full week included lots of interactive modeling activities to learn school routines and class jobs. We also graphed kind and unkind choices in Preschool and the apple taste test results in KinderPrep.

Sports and Games was the last camp theme for our summer program this year. The summer flew by! Our campers made paper plate “tennis rackets” and played tennis with balloons with a partner. They connected glow sticks for a challenging ring toss game and had snowball fights with soft puffy “snowballs”. Our campers also played lots of different card and board games that enriched problem solving and fine motor skills. We practiced teamwork and good sportsmanship throughout the week and watched videos of Olympic athletes. Karate Dave taught our friends about self defense and respect and all the campers had a blast learning how to be ninjas. We ended the week with our last pizza and popsicle lunch and had to say goodbye to some of our friends who are headed to Kindergarten. We will miss them so much but are excited for their next learning adventure. Thank you for sharing your kids with us this summer ❤️

STEM Camp was full of hands-on science experiments and creative explorations. Our campers made predictions, learned new concepts, shared observations and ideas about what happened in the experiments. They built structures with many different materials and had lots of fun making slime and watching chemical reactions take place. We ended the week with water play, watermelon, pizza and popsicles. Next week is the last week of camp. The summer has flown by!

Creative Camping week was amazing! Each room had a tent and simulated campfire for dramatic play and themed sensory and art materials to explore. Our friends painted with marshmallows, matched animal tracks, sang campfire songs and painted with forks to make bears of their own design. We ended the week with an amazing science experiment as our campers made solar ovens to cook s’mores. Our preschool campers charted their predictions of whether the sun would cook the s’mores. Pirate Adventures at Summer Camp was amazing! Our friends made pirate flags and treasure maps, enjoyed themed sensory bins with kinetic sand, coins, jewels and treasure chests and enjoyed dressing as pirates in pirate “ships” so much!! We followed clues on a scavenger hunt to find the hidden treasure, listened to pirate ditty’s and learned about pirate ships and how to talk like a pirate. We ended the week with water day, watermelon, pizza and popsicles. Circus Carnival week at summer camp was so much fun! Our friends created sock puppets, painted with balloons and ice cream cones, played lots of engaging and tricky carnival games, explored sensory bins with popcorn and themed items and tried circus peanuts. Our campers were mesmerized watching videos of circus performers flying on the trapeze, balancing and juggling and swinging by their hair, and thought the clown and silly animal acts were hilarious. As always we ended the week with pizza and popsicles and lots of Friday fun! Pirate Adventures is next me hearties! Arr 🏴‍☠️!!

Week 2 for our summer campers was the World Explorers theme.

Our friends flew on an airplane each day to a different country. We set up chairs and boarded the “plane” and made sure to follow all the safety rules on our flight. During the flight we learned facts about Italy, England, Mexico and Japan. We tried foods from different cultures like pasta, rice, edamame and salsa and had a tea party with “biscuits” as well. Our art included finger painting the flag of England and creating maracas and Japanese fans from paper plates and drawings like Michelangelo while laying in our backs. That was not easy! We also made piñatas and had fun busting it open on the playground. Ms Eva’s daughter Ms. Tracy and her family also visited each camp room and shared facts about the countries we were learning about. Thank you!

We are forming new friendships and having amazing experiences. Next week is Circus Carnival theme and we can’t wait for more adventures together!
