Finding Your Voice - Special Offer 06/03/2025

I don’t often post about programs, but this one is close to my heart. Finding Your Voice is a powerful experience created by my mentor, Cynthia James—and I’m honored to be one of the facilitators. I've been coaching since 2006 and when I walked through this work myself, I came away with something I wasn't expecting: a deep sense of peace and purpose. In a world that can feel loud and uncertain, that kind of groundedness is everything to me.
If you’ve been feeling called to reconnect with your voice, your power, or your purpose... this might be the invitation you’ve been waiting for. And, if not for you - perhaps for a friend.
Here’s the link if you’re curious:

“Dance is a song of the body, either of joy or pain.” – Rukmini Vijayakumar

Life’s ups and downs can settle in our bodies in ways we might not even realize. That’s why moving our bodies is so important. Recently, my 93-year-old father-in-law, who’s been grieving the loss of his partner of 69 years, was feeling quite down. While we were visiting, I played some old 40s tunes, and soon enough, he was tapping his foot. His mobility might be limited, but the music transported him to a happier time.

While calling it dancing might be a bit of a stretch (pun intended!), it definitely helped him reconnect with that “footloose and fancy-free” side of himself. I hope you’ll find a way to dance, too. Whether it’s a full-blown dance party or just a little foot-tapping, let yourself enjoy the rhythm and feel a bit of joy.

Laughing doesn’t always come naturally to me. I remember someone once told me not to take myself so seriously, and I remember thinking, “What on earth are they talking about?”

Mark Twain captured the importance of laughter with this quote: “The human race has only one really effective weapon and that is laughter.” I hope you’ll make an effort to find moments, people, or places that make you laugh or even to the point of LMAO!

Sure, there are some serious things happening, and I don’t ignore them. In fact, I listen deeply, offer up prayer and counsel when I can. But if I want to show up as the best version of myself and handle whatever sends our way, I’ve got to embrace laughter. It’s not just a nice-to-have; it’s essential.

As I’m working on making the next few months as stress-free as possible, I’ve been thinking about how simple stretches could play a big role. Have you ever considered carving out a little time each day to stretch? The beauty of stretching is that it’s super adaptable—you can start wherever you are.

Why give it a go? For starters, stretching is fantastic for relieving stress. When we’re feeling overwhelmed, our muscles often tense up, reacting to both physical and emotional stress. By focusing on areas where you hold tension, like your neck, shoulders, and upper back, you can start to feel more relaxed.

But there’s another perk: stretching isn’t just good for your body; it’s great for your mind too. Regular stretching can enhance your flexibility and also offer a mental breather. As you stretch, try incorporating mindfulness and meditation techniques to give your mind a much-needed break. Let’s face it, who doesn’t need a little mental downtime?

With just 91 days until Election Day and 147 days left in the year, I've been reflecting on how I want to wrap up these next few months. What kind of feeling do I want to carry with me into the new year? How can I ensure I end 2024 on a positive note, regardless of what’s happening in Washington?

Here's a little nugget I've been thinking about: how often do we hear someone say, “I don’t like water”? But did you know that even mild dehydration can mess with our memory, concentration, reaction time, and mood? Staying hydrated is more important than we often realize. A 2019 study found that drinking more water leads to better cognitive function and a more upbeat mood, while dehydration can bring on brain fog and a grumpy attitude. And let’s face it, who doesn’t want to feel a bit better and brighter? So, let’s make a conscious effort to take in more water and keep our spirits high as we finish out the year!

How do you keep yourself grounded and centered., no matter what. Exercise, exploring, singing, dancing, breathwork, yoga, painting, laughing? Whatever it is, do more of it. enjoy the journey, gifting ourselves, our families and our communities, the very best version of ourselves.

I've travelled on many different paths in this lifetime. I used to think that the path I chose had to be the path I stayed on. And then, if I didn't succeed, I'd have shame around it. I'm grateful I've released that limited thinking and know that I can begin again, on the same path or any other path I choose. I get to decide. I love working with clients and watching them reinvent themselves as well. It's a beautiful, and sometimes bumpy, journey, and so worth it.

Yesterday morning I was gifted with a surprise milk bath. As I took my nut mylk out of the refrigerator in preparing my breakfast, BAM, the jar fell from my hand while I was still holding the lid! The mylk shot straight up and covered my hair, face, and blouse, and then it fell to its side leaving a puddle at my feet. I was astounded! I had already been running behind, and I had taken extra care in getting ready for work. But here I was with quite a mess and I had to change my clothes and assess my now wet hair. I was flummoxed to say the least. I could hear the old adage, don't cry over spilled milk in my head. I'd like to say, I laughed the matter away, but that was not the case. I lost it! Maybe I didn't cry over it, however I might have let out an explicative or two. I really had to regain my composure because I knew, getting myself worked up was NOT going to help me along my way.

Have you spilled any milk lately, literally or figuratively? Whether its spilled milk or some other obstacle, how do you reframe the mishap to get yourself back on the beam again?

June is my absolute favorite month. For me it represents freedom. I remember as a kid being "freed" from school and imagined the adventures I would have. At 40, in June, I said good-bye to a marriage I never should have been in. Feeling freer than ever to step into endless possibilities, much like that little girl getting ready for summer break. She was pretty smart, and so was that 40 year old. What adventures does this summer hold? I don't know, but I know I'm going to milk it for all it has!

Happy June all! Today is Say something nice day!
Is there something nice you can say to someone you do or don't know? Maybe a text/call to an old friend? What about when you look in the mirror, say something nice to yourself.
You are a beautiful being, just because you exist! If you're journey has been difficult, I'm sorry.
One day at a time, you can begin again.
Allow yourself a fresh start, a new beginning, beginning with right now.

How does my inclusion of others tie into coaching? When we operate with low energy, we blame or ridicule others for our or society's ills, disempowering ourselves. Through Energy Leadership Coaching, I guide women in elevating their energy levels and fostering higher-quality relationships in both personal and professional spheres. Inner peace often translates into acceptance of others, curiosity, less focus on “otherness”, and more on finding similarities. Curious about where you stand on the Energy Leadership Index? I'm offering three free 30-minute sessions. Email me at [email protected] to learn more.
