Today would’ve been my 16th first day of school at HTA welcoming smiling faces and nervous parents as their Littles embark on their first academic journey. Alas, I am at home still social distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In May, when the world seemed to stop, we made the very difficult decision to suspend HTA operations. My heart was broken. I’ve been thinking a long time about what I would post. The perfect words. The perfect sentiment. Well, I am still sad and my heart is still broke, but I know we made the right decision. This virus has affected everyone and things are very different and will never be the same.
In my soul I am a teacher. It was not a job but a calling. I taught hundreds of Littles and each one wove a special place in my heart creating the tapestry of my life. I will never forget you, for you are a part of my HTA Family!
From the bottom of my heart I thank all of you who have followed us, supported us and sent your children to our beloved academy.
With love and many blessings,
Ms. Juli, HTA Director

On behalf of the educators out here...this next quarter (but probably longer) starts a new chapter in public education. There is a huge learning curve that students, teachers, and district administrators will be navigating, yet again, together!
As we embark on this thing called “eLearning or blended learning or even face to face instruction”, we are asking our Facebook friends to refrain from publicly scrutinizing their children’s teachers/schools/district for the way they are teaching, the lessons they’re assigning, or the decisions the districts are making. Instead, we ask you stand up for educators if you see this negativity on your timeline.
Please offer grace to your child’s teacher and other school personnel. I promise that educating & keeping your children safe is still their #1 priority. 💞
They are about to navigate unchartered waters with little idea in what to expect. This is a crisis, not a time to be playing armchair quarterback. They love your kids and will be doing their absolute best!

Please copy & paste if you are a teacher ... or support teachers.
And fellow educators, YOU’VE GOT THIS! We believe in you! We are all in this together! 🍎
Thanks for sharing, Rach EL ❤️💪🏽

HTA graduates are celebrated as heroes. I have known these boys, Zachary Haugen and Jake Watson, since they were born and they have been friends just as long. Good kids these two!

This school year, while cut short in the classroom, our students learned over and beyond with exuberance and joy! Art, books, Paul Cezanne, dinosaurs, engineering, friendship, gardening, helping, icons, Jesus, kindness, love, Matisse, numbers, Orthodoxy, playing, quiet, reading, solar system, trains, understanding, virtues, writing, x-rays, youth, and zeal! Lots of zeal!
On behalf of myself, Ms. Yvette, and Ms. Nicki we thank all you for sharing your Littles with us. It has been our pleasure to have been a huge part of your lives!
Enjoy our year in pictures!
