Do you know why National Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15? It’s because it coincides with the national independence days for many Latin American countries, including Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. Mexico's national Independence Day follows on the 16th, while Chile's occurs on the 18th, and Belize's is on the 21st.

Today was graduation day and we are so proud of the students moving on to kindergarten!

A Montessori teacher assistant works in a Montessori-focused classroom to assist the lead teacher with activities and lessons for students. Your responsibilities as a Montessori teacher assistant are to help the teacher prepare activities and lessons for the day, monitor children as they work and play, and record observations and notes about student progress.
Your duties include cleaning the classroom daily after students leave for the day, assisting the lead teacher with and participating in classroom and school events, and assemblies.

Today is an opportunity for us all to reflect on the legacy of this Civil Rights icon - the progress he made and the work yet to be accomplished.
