The bright students in Mrs. Stephaney Jones-Wild's Bright Beginnings Kindergarten class at Highland Lakes School are taking their reading skills to the next level using "whisper phones"!

These clever tools allow our young readers to hear themselves read aloud clearly without disturbing their classmates. By whispering into the phone, students can focus on pronunciation, build confidence, and bring stories to life one word at a time. 📖❤️

We are bursting with Sidewinder pride! 🐍✨ Ms. Howie (Gifted Specialist at Greenbrier Elementary School) has been officially recognized for achieving incredible, High Growth in both ELA and Math on student assessments! 📚

Because of her outstanding dedication to meeting the needs of our gifted and talented learners, she also won a special classroom visit from over very own Deer Valley Superintendent, Dr. Finch!

HUGE congratulations are in order for two of our many AMAZE-ing gifted educators at Canyon Springs STEM Academy!
👏 Mrs. Christine Rowlan's 8th-grade gifted math students demonstrated significant gains on their state math exams!
👏 Mr. Justin Hoff's 8th-grade Renaissance science students achieved massive growth on the state science assessment, with over 80% proficiency on the AzSCI!

Learning is a fully immersive experience in Mrs. Powell’s Bright Beginnings Kindergarten class at Canyon Springs STEM Academy!

Our youngest gifted learners are getting "minds-on" as they actively explore, test, and apply their 5 senses. By connecting sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste to the world around them, these kindergarteners are building a strong foundation for critical thinking, discovery, and scientific inquiry.

We love seeing our littlest learners ask big questions and discover how their amazing bodies help them understand the world! 🧠✨

Vocabulary instruction is anything but boring in Mrs. Woolley’s 4th grade SAGE ELA class! As the Gifted Specialist at Paseo Hills, she brings complex terminology to life by connecting it directly to what matters most: her students' own lives.

Instead of just memorizing definitions, students are making meaningful associations and creating real-world examples based on their own lived experiences. When learning connects to real life, deep understanding follows!

Mr. Robert Murray's 6th-grade SAGE ELA scholars are diving deep into the novel My Daniel. To show their understanding, these gifted and talented students are creating incredible dioramas of the most meaningful scenes from the book.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us yesterday! 🙌

Our Gifted Parent Seminar #4 was a tremendous success! We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Laura Wingers and Dr. Beth Richter (CENTER Psychology) for taking the time to share their knowledge with our DVUSD families during our "Coffee With Clinician" event. ☕✨

The learning and creativity never stops for our young scholars! 🦉

Following a very exciting morning with a visit from the Wild At Heart sanctuary, our Gifted Pre-K Academy students at Las Brisas Elementary were inspired to dive right into their artistic expression.

Using the fascinating knowledge they learned directly from the wildlife experts this morning, students constructed their very own clay owls! From shaping the feathers to detailing the eyes, they applied their real-world observations straight into their artwork.

It is incredible to see how a hands-on experience can spark so much creativity and deep learning in our youngest Owls!
