Wanted to pass on some useful info I discovered today. I kept my daughter home from school this morning in an abundance of caution because she was complaining of a scratchy throat. Turns out it was just allergies because she is completely fine now. I received a call from the nurse mid-day informing me that because she was out sick she would have to stay home for 10 days, or produce a negative Covid test and have zero symptoms. (This is a CDC guideline). Because she was feeling completely fine by the time I received the phone call I started searching for rapid result Covid testing. I found that NextCare Urgent Care in Chandler (near the Chandler Mall) offers rapid result testing. We had to wait for just over an hour. They did a nose swab (not the super intense brain tickling one - just slightly uncomfortable for my daughter) and we had our negative results in 15 minutes. I was able to drop them by the front office today and have her cleared for school tomorrow! Thought this info might be useful for anyone who finds themselves in this situation this school year. Quick way to get your kid back in the classroom if they are feeling better without waiting a full 10 days.

Girls on the Run is returning to Kyrene de los Lagos this Spring! Girls on the run is for 3rd-5th graders and inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Registration opens November 1st through November 30th. We will meet after school on Mondays and Thursdays until 4:15pm starting January 27th through April 25th. Why?
The care closet was created to help students who need some help with daily necessities. We want to help minimize worry about basic needs so each Mustang can focus on their education and classroom activities.
What is in there?
The closet is stocked with items that your students can take or use to help them freshen up for the day, snack on and meal items that they can take home.
