Deer Valley hosted its first annual English Learner Gifted & Advanced Parent Program Night. Families walked away with information about our district's signature PreK-12 Gifted Programs, English Learner Services, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program.

IBMYP World History students shared their WWI Time Capsule projects in Ms. Harper’s class today! The purpose of the project was for students to use artifacts to describe how the war impacted the lives of citizens.

Congratulations to our Flinn Scholars Program Semi-finalists, who have all advanced to the finalists round!
Brendan, Zahrah, and Yameen are three of 36 state finalists, who will face another round of interviews for a chance at the Flinn Foundation Scholarship—a value of more than $130,000 if they are selected and attend one of the three public universities in the state. Twenty scholarships will be awarded in April. Good luck to our finalists!

Class of 2026 you guys rocked it!! Sophomore Personal Projects were so good. Can’t wait to see who the awards go to. Winners to be announced next week! Great job EVERYONE!

Congratulations to Senior Desanka Malinovic who was named a 2023 Alpha Scholar and is participating in a rigorous social science research program that teaches college-level research, writing and presentation skills to high school students in support of UN Sustainable Development Goals. Yesterday for AZ IB Day of Service, a group of our IB students demonstrated the IB learner profile trait caring by making Thanksgiving cards for our local Assisted Living facility!
