The Phoenix Union Foundation for Education provides scholarship assistance to Phoenix Union students

Through fundraising events and campaigns, we are able to provide scholarship assistance to college-going students and financial support to district-wide programs that support that goal as well.

When Mr. David Benson received a PUFE mini-grant, he took his students on a field trip to West Fork Trail in Sedona to practice environmental and landscape photography. Through hands-on learning students explored creativity, nature, and new skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

This could be YOUR classroom next!

Student Spotlight! ✨
“Hello, my name is Arionna Smith and I am studying mechanical engineering at the University of California Los Angeles. Before the start of my freshman year, I participated in a summer program where I met some of my best friends who were also studying similar subjects and have similar interests to me.

Meeting other engineers was an amazing experience, because going to such a small school the only people who had the same interest as me were in my clubs. I have gotten to work on a lab project about heat transfer. I have also gotten to work with my school’s Formula One racing team to help create an electric racing vehicle that will be used in competition this in my Formula One club. Overall I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to attend the University of California Los Angeles. I feel like without this experience I wouldn’t have discovered so much about myself and the world around me.

And I’m also extremely grateful to the Phoenix Union foundation because without the scholarship school would not be a possibility for me. I heavily rely on scholarships in order to go to school. I deeply value my Arizona community. I come back and I volunteer at places such as the Arizona science center, and with my old Girl Scout troop in order to keep the connection of my home. After college, I plan to move back to Arizona and get a robotics engineering job and I’m so happy to have this opportunity to just see parts of the world and ultimately be reminded of why I love my home so much.”

Tip Tuesday!

Perla Gonzalez's Tip on Preparation for College: "While the transition from high school to college can feel overwhelming, one key piece of advice I would give to Phoenix Union students is: get involved. It’s normal to feel uncomfortable or nervous at first but stepping out of your comfort zone is where the growth happens. Getting involved has made my college journey so much more memorable and rewarding. I’ve been fortunate to meet so many amazing people from all around the world and form genuine friendships that I truly value. If there’s one takeaway I’d share, it’s this: take initiative. Say yes to opportunities, challenge yourself, and make your college experience your own.
