Anyone interested in participating on the Adventure team or Rifle team, I recommend you find your instructor before school as there are new requirements for JROTC cadets. A physical is now required for ANY competitive sports. You will not be able to start practice without a physical. Contact all your buddies that are interested, get those texts out. Good luck this year TGB

As my final day yesterday as the 7th Battalion’s BC, I would like to say I could not be more proud to be the Battalion Commander of such an amazing Battalion. This year, 2013-2014, was without a doubt the best year thus far in my JROTC history: 3 State Championship titles, adopting our street, and tutoring the incoming generations- overall making a difference in our community. I think we have not only met the JROTC mission but surpassed it as a team, a family.
I have learned so much in my four years in JROTC not only from the instructors and the curriculum but from the lessons of life, as a cadet, a student, an athlete, a friend, an individual, and as a leader. Adversity will always present itself in many forms but I have been able to push through it and used it to motivate me to strive for my dreams and aspirations. I will be living my dream by attending The Air Force Academy to further my growth as a leader. Now, if I can do it, I know anyone can.
If there are any words I’d like to leave the Battalion with they would be to not be afraid to make mistakes, b/c as long as you learn from those mistakes, you will always win. Therefore don’t be afraid to challenge yourself, and step out of your comfort zone to make a difference. B/c as 1SG Jurczak says, you never know who is watching. Regardless of where you come from, or what you have been through, you can always succeed. Where there is a will, there is a way.
Thank you and I wish you all the very best in all your dreams, aspirations, and future endeavors.
Take care and don’t be afraid to fly
