It's Secret Staff Spirit Week! Monday was Alternate Career Day, and Principal Houlden dressed in his motocross attire. He even rode his bike to school! While he definitely looks the part, we are grateful that he chose to be a principal.

In many of our classes, students have a weekly "job" they are assigned that keeps the class running. From Line Leader to Paper Passer to Mini Teacher, students are given the opportunity to work as a community and establish responsible habits. This student's job is to update the calendar every day!

8th graders learned about camouflage in this "Butterfly Project" where they were given a white paper butterfly and they had to pick a location in the classroom to camouflage it. Then the principal was tasked with finding them! Can you spot this masterfully camouflaged butterfly?

These 4th graders worked hard on their Valentine's Day boxes, and won the class contest for Best Box! From left to right is 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. 1st place spent weeks building his out of popsicle sticks! Great work, boys!

Every student at Scholars Academy has 2 15-minute recesses each day! Our playground includes a half-sized football field where they can play soccer or football, a basketball court, 2 jungle gyms, a gaga pit, and lots of seating!

6 of our amazing classes got to learn how to make balloon animals as a reward for being on their BEST behavior during Parent/Teacher Conference week. Positive reinforcement comes in all sorts of fun colors and shapes!

At the end of the day, we encourage students to leave things better than they found them. After projects, that's a big job! These students are taking pride in their classroom by keeping it tidy. This is a great example of Servant Leadership, one of our Values. Great work 5th grade!

Our teachers are getting ready for their Valentine's Day class parties! The best decorating goes to Mrs. Trejo and Ms. Cortez in 3rd grade with their matching doors, and Ms. Lara in 4th with her Valentine's Day mailbox.

Last week, we celebrated our 100th day this school year! Students were allowed to dress as if they were 100 years old, and this 1st grader embraced the aesthetic.

From 4th grade, another student was excited to be recognized for his Determination at the character trait assembly on Friday. Positive reinforcement is paramount in building confidence and forming good habits.
