Meet Perla! She is our student of the month for November. 🙌🏻

Perla is 14 years old and she is learning to play the saxaphone! 🎷She has been taking lessons for 6 months and she enjoys the sensation of pressing the buttons to create the sound.

Her favorite dessert is Daiguiri ice cream from Baskin Robbins! 🍦In addition to learning to play the saxaphone, Perla is learning Korean and hopes to visit South Korea some day.

We're so proud of how far she has come! 📚

Get to know more about our co-founder- Katie!

Katie boasts a 14-year tenure in the education sector, having earned her education degree 🎓 with a focus on science🧪 and math 🧮 from GCU. Over a span of 6 years in various schools, she studied a number of subjects inlcuding: Math, Science, History, English, Performing Arts, and music🎶.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Katie has a strong musical background, learning piano 🎹at the age of 5, and the violin 🎻when she was 12.

In her personal life, Katie is married to Andre, who is her co-founder. After they had their daughter, Elisha, they created Arise AZ, evolving over a span of 5 years.

Katie is thrilled to be able to share her love of learning and music with her students!

Meet one of the co-founders of Arise AZ🌵– Andre! Growing up in Pinetop, AZ, Andre pursued his education at Arizona State University right here in the Valley of the Sun, graduating in 2008. 🎓

Beyond his teaching career, Andre's life journey is a colorful tapestry of talents and passions. As a child, he explored his creativity in sports🏀⚽️, music🎵, and art🎨taking music lessons, participating in art classes, and competing in various sports.

Additionally, he played the piano 🎹and saxophone 🎷as a student and took up the guitar 🎸at the age of 18. He also ventured into drumming 🥁and spent two decades playing both guitar and drums with church groups on worship teams. 🎵

His artistic side shines brightly as well. While he always had a love for art classes 🎨in school, Andre didn't fully embrace art education until three years ago when he picked up a paintbrush and discovered how to combine his drawing skills with painting. Now, for a year, he has been teaching art to eager students of all ages.

A true creative at heart, Andre is passionate about sharing his skills and knowledge with students who share a desire to learn more about sports, music, and art. He's looking forward to welcoming new students into his classes! 😀

Meet our teacher of the month for September- Ingrid!

Ingrid teaches elementary classes and she has been a teacher for over 35 years!👩‍🏫

She was born to a German mom and Russian father who immigrated here when she was just 3 years old.

Ingrid became a teacher because she loves children and especially enjoys seeing them succeed.

In her free time, she likes to get outdoors and hike! Her pet peeves are pokey drivers 🚙and unkind people.

The best gift she has ever received is a surprise 60th birthday party 🎉with all of her friends and family.

We’re so lucky to have her as part of the Arise AZ team! 😃

She has been playing the piano 🎹for 6 months now and we’re so impressed with how fast she is learning! Ella’s favorite food is popcorn 🍿and in her free time she enjoys doing art. 🎨🖌️ We’re so happy to have her as a a student here at Arise AZ. 😄

Meet Cassie! She is our teacher of the month for August. 🙌🏻

Cassie is a math tutor ✖️➗➕➖and has been tutoring for 3 years now. She became a tutor because she enjoys helping people learn and her favorite part of teaching is when a student “gets it”.

Cassie comes from a big family and she says it really helped shaped her as a person. If she could only eat one food for the rest of her life, she would choose dark chocolate 🍫covered marshmallows. The best gift she has ever received is a disco
