Scores change. Results fluctuate. Numbers go up and down.

If you measure yourself by the outcome alone, you’ll always be chasing something that moves.

The outcome is just one moment. â˜đŸ»

One game. One quarter. One conversation. One attempt.

It tells you what happened, not what you’re capable of. Not how hard you worked to get there and the growth you made along the way.

Your effort is the part you control. It’s the reps nobody sees, the days you showed up when you didn’t want to, the work you put in before the moment even arrived.

That’s the real story.

Not the outcome or end result.

I expected them to mention a specific tool or framework, but what my client told me their biggest takeaway was after 12 weeks of Mental Performance coaching
surprised me.

They said learning to normalize mistakes. That mistakes are okay and actually a good thing.

Then, they remembered how important Process Over Outcome was and they really wanted to drive home “Focus on the process, not the outcome”.

Dr. Andrew Huberman’s neuroscience research supports this too. He found that your brain actually needs mistakes to grow.

This is what Mental Performance Coaching builds. Someone who isn’t afraid of mistakes and failure, and uses it as a way to get better.

Confidence isn’t just a feeling you wait for. 😬

If you’re waiting to FEEL confident before you do the thing, you might be waiting forever.

Confidence starts with a choice. You make a decision that you’re going to do it and then act.

There are going to be nerves. There might even be fear.

That’s not a sign that you’re not ready. That’s just what comes with doing something new that matters and you care about.

You have two choices:
1 - Wait until those feelings go away (they probably won’t)
2 - Take action anyway, ideally using the feelings as energy

When you decide to go for it you’ll either learn something that gets you closer next time, or you’ll show yourself that you were capable of doing it all along.

Both of those are wins! đŸ™ŒđŸ»

From there, you repeat. Make the decision again. Take the action again. Learn more or build more evidence that you can do it.

Over time, that track record you built through choices and actions proves to yourself that you’re more and more capable.

You don’t find confidence, you build it. One decision, one action, one rep at a time. đŸ˜€

This is the simplest and hardest concept I introduce.

Simple because it takes just a few seconds to understand. Hard because catching yourself in the moment takes practice.

The event is going to happen. The bad break, the missed opportunity, the thing you didn’t see coming. That part is usually out of your control.

How you respond to that? That’s always within your control, and that choice shapes everything that follows.

E+R=O

Event + Response = Outcome

That mistake?

It already happened. You can’t go back. You can’t undo it.

What you CAN do is decide what it means and what you do next.

That changes everything!

“Ugh, I always do that!” and getting down on yourself is one story.

“That’s not like me. Reset. Stay present and keep going.” and taking a moment to breathe is a different story.

The first story confirms self-doubt and could send you into a spiral. 🌀

The second story makes the mistake no big deal and something that just requires a little adjusting. 🔧

Same event, different stories and responses, and completely different outcomes.

The event doesn’t define you. Your response does!

Great first day for TOTAL Venom Girls Flag Football!

It was an absolute pleasure being part of what T.O.T.A.L. nonprofit is starting here. 🏈

I had a lot of fun helping the girls with Mindset and Mental Performance, and I can’t wait to see what they all do with it throughout the season.

This is just the beginning, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to help the girls develop impactful skills for all areas of life, while building with T.O.T.A.L. and the coaches. 🐍

If how you feel determines how you perform, you either don’t have a system yet or you aren’t using it.

Good day, you’re locked in.

Bad day, you’re over it and done.

Compliment, you’re on top of the world.

Criticism, you feel awful.

That’s not performance. That’s a coin flip. đŸȘ™

The people who stay consistent (in sports, business, with their health, in their relationships, anything), aren’t necessarily more emotionally stable than you. They just stopped letting their mood run the show.

They have a system and follow it regardless of how they feel. 🧭

They’ve learned that feeling pass and the system is still standing when the feelings are gone.

Emotions tell you what you feel. Your system tells you what to do.

Build the system.
Trust it on the bad days.
That’s the secret.

You might not be able to do much about where you start, but where you end up is a DECISION. 🏁

Too many people let their starting point become their story. Their ceiling.

- Job titles
- Worst moments
- Outcomes of first attempts
- Teams they were placed on
- Conditions that weren’t chosen

They treat it like their final landing spot instead of the start of their story.

The people who break through aren’t just the ones who started ahead.

They’re the ones who refused to let where they started be where they end up. â›“ïžâ€đŸ’„

I heard one of the most impactful things from the most surprising place.

T.I. has said multiple times, “If you live by the cheers, you die by the boos.” đŸ€Ż

We all love praise, recognition, and applause. There’s nothing wrong with that.

But when that becomes the foundation for your confidence, you’re building on something you can’t control.

When the boos and criticism come, and chances are they will at some point, you won’t have anything underneath to hold you up.

If you build your whole identity on the praise, your whole world might be flipped upside down when you hear the opposite.

The journey back to your true self is the most powerful transformation you will ever make. đŸȘ·

If you are not sure who that version of you is, or how to find your way back, I can help you get there.

You don’t have to figure it out alone. đŸ«¶đŸ»

The best way to lead others into clarity is to be grounded and focused myself. 🧘

I’ve talked a lot about using music as a mindset tool, and here’s a behind the scenes look at one of the ways I use it for myself.

Before I give a workshop or step on a stage, I always go through some@mental prep with the help of music. 🎧

It gets me energized if I need a lift, reminds me of how hard I’ve worked, sets the tone for that day, and helps me reinforce or shift my thoughts and beliefs in real time.

Music is more than something I enjoy, it’s one of my most powerful tools. đŸ› ïž
