On Monday, 5th through 8th grade students celebrated Pi Day! Normally celebrated on March 14, this day commemorates the irrational number approximated at 3.14. Students participated in center activities throughout the day that included finding the ratio of circumference to diameter (Pi!), writing volume formulas for cylinders, cones, and spheres, and making Pi bracelets as well as a large Pi chain that represent the digits of Pi. And of course, the day would not be complete without the making and eating of mini pies!
