At Thursday's Cartwright school board meeting, teachers and education support professionals came together to speak up about the district's efforts to divide us and bust our union. We called on the school district to stop intimidating workers and work with the union in good faith. Our three specific demands are below. We are going to keep organizing and keep fighting - our union is too powerful and too important to stop now!

1. No changes to the Employee Handbook with coming to the table and then ratifying with the members
2. No changes to the meet & confer process without agreement by both parties and then ratifying with the members
3. Resume the meet & confer process for this year by June 19.

Tonight at 5pm is the last governing board meeting of the 22-23 school year. As always, please attend if you would like to know what’s going on within our district!

As May comes to a close, we're sharing one of our favorite resources for learning more about Asian-American history specifically in Arizona - whether you're looking for more information about specific subjects, or just want to explore. Through this in-depth, interactive digital tour from the City of Phoenix's Historic Preservation Office, you can find out about Sikh farmers along the Salt River, Phoenix's first (and second) Chinatown, the state's first Buddhist temple, and so much more, through articles, maps, and historic and present-day photographs.
