The Building New Horizons – New Hope Community Center collaboration is the story of two people living on different continents, meeting “by chance” through the miraculous nature of the internet on an international online pen pal site.

Uganda’s rainy season brings devastating floods and flash floods that have claimed many lives, particularly in rural villages and towns. Countless students in our community have lost one or both parents to these tragedies, and the impact on families and schools is profound.

Maate took in more orphans to his home recently. A neighbor, the mom, went to work, but did not return - her welfare is unknown. Maate took in her three children, toddlers, until their mother is located, returns safely. Prayers requested.

We adopted three children recently - into the New Hope family. They lost their only parent, Dad, to a shooting. The children have been graciously taken in by Maate. They preferred to attend trade schools as they are over 14 yrs old - so we are sending them to six month occupational training schools - for tailoring and barbering.
