Two of our amazing Clarendon teachers got a BIG surprise today from APS and the Arizona Diamondbacks! ⚾️❤️

Each teacher was awarded $500 to spend in their classroom! 🥳📚✏️

We are so excited for these incredible teachers and so grateful to APS and the Diamondbacks for supporting our Clarendon Cougars! 🐾💙

🌟 Welcome Wednesday! 🌟

Clarendon is full of new staff members this year, and we’re so excited to introduce them to our Cougar community! 🐾💙

A big thank you to Mr. Sosa for being our very first Welcome Wednesday feature! 🎉 Not only do we want to give him a warm welcome to Clarendon, but we also want to share some fun facts so everyone can get to know him a little better!

🌎 Before turning 5, Mr. Sosa had already lived in five different countries—the United States, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama! He continued living in Panama City, Panama, until graduating high school.

☘️ He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and is the third generation of Sosas to attend Notre Dame!

🎶 He’s also super musical! He has sung tenor in choir and has played the drums, bass, and guitar—and he can even rap!

🎭 And apparently, Mr. Sosa has quite the knack for voices and impressions… so we may need to put that talent to the test sometime! 😂

We’re so excited to have Mr. Sosa as part of the Clarendon family! If you see him around campus, make sure to give him a big Cougar welcome! 💙🐾

Mr. Martin, to say you will be missed is an understatement. You truly embody Clarendon — the community, the spirit, and everything that makes this school so special. You have a way of making every person who walks through those front doors feel welcomed, valued, and appreciated. While we will definitely miss you (and your ahem “wonderful” dad jokes), we are so excited for this next adventure for you. Thank you for the impact you’ve made on so many students, staff, and families over the years. Clarendon is truly a better place because of you!

🚀 BIG NEWS for our 4th, 5th & 6th graders! 📚

Students will soon be receiving their very own personal science library to take home and KEEP! From STEM books and leveled readers to bilingual stories and high-interest fiction, these books are meant to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning all summer long. 🌟

📅 Distribution Week: May 11–15

This special gift is all about helping students:
✨ Build vocabulary
✨ Think like scientists
✨ Explore new ideas
✨ Grow their love for reading

And this is just the beginning… 👀 A brand new Science Innovation Lab is coming in the 2026–2027 school year! 🧪💡

As part of our Earth’s Features Science Unit, students have been learning all about rock formation and fossils. They are so proud of their fossil creations and can’t wait to share them at our Dual Language Showcase! 🌎📚

🎨☀️ Amazing Arts Summer Program 2026 – Spots Now Open! ⚽🎭

Give your child a summer full of creativity, movement, and fun! Our Amazing Arts Summer Program is designed to keep students engaged, active, and inspired all summer long.

If you’re interested, please complete the application. We will follow up with full program details.

✨ What your child will experience:
• Painting, drawing, and hands-on arts & crafts
• Music, rhythm, and singing
• Dance classes including Ballet & Tap
• Acting, storytelling, and creative expression
• Art history and cultural exploration
• Outdoor play and team-building activities
• Sports & movement,⚽

Our program blends creativity and physical activity to help kids grow, express themselves, and stay active in a safe, supportive environment.

🗓 Program Dates:
Session 1: June 1st – June 30th, 2026
Session 2: June 29th – July 31st, 2026

🚫 No programming on Juneteenth or the 4th of July.
