Pumpkin investigations in Prek!

This week we have been weighing and measuring pumpkins and gourds in pre-k. The children enjoyed recording our findings. Swipe right to see ! 🎃

There is always more than meets the eye with play. Here the children in the two's class are playing with seashells and rocks. They are also unknowingly working on their pincher and tripod grasps. ⁠

The pincher and tripod grasps are important milestones for children to achieve. These grasps allow us: to feed ourselves small food items, pick up small objects without dropping them, hold a crayon or pencil properly, button, use zippers, and snap. All important activities for self-care and especially important for school because it helps children develop the coordination needed to learn to write. ⁠

If you missed “Co-op College” on work day, your make up class is tonight (Thursday, Sept. 8th) at 6pm.

Thanks to our hardworking parents on work day the sand yard is ready for another school year! Looking forward to seeing it full of friends tomorrow.⁠

Saying goodbye on the first day of preschool can be hard for both preschoolers and parents. Remember when leaving to never sneak out. While it's tempting to just sneak away to avoid tears, saying goodbye builds trust with your child.⁠
⁠
Before leaving make sure you have signed in and done everything you need to do before leaving the room. Calmly and confidently tell your child goodbye and that "mommy or daddy" will be back later. If they are upset, hand them over to a teacher and leave. ⁠

This is a time to work together with your child’s teachers and your fellow class parents to make sure our classrooms are at their best! ⁠
⁠
- Co-op College will be held from 8:30-9:15 during the workday.⁠
- Childcare is provided.⁠
- We host 3 workdays per year- one in August, one in January, and one in May. A representative from each family must attend 2 of the 3 workdays as part of our school participation requirements.⁠
