We recently had the honor of hosting Mr. Jeff Cohen, the USAID Indonesia Mission Director, at All Saints'. Mr. Cohen gave a special presentation to our seventh- and eighth-grade students, sharing his experiences working in the Dominican Republic and Haiti after the 2010 earthquake.

The eighth-grade students have been reading Tracy Kidder's book "Mountains Beyond Mountains" and exploring the concept of "Bending the Arc" as part of their curriculum. Meanwhile, the seventh-grade students read a book about Haiti titled "On That Day Everybody Ate." Mr. Cohen's presentation was a great way to tie in what the students learned in the classroom and hear about it from someone who has experienced it first-hand.

We are grateful for Mr. Cohen's visit and the opportunity to learn from his experiences.

It’s time for Fun Fact Friday! Did you know the new Shaver Learning Commons is home to grade-level gardens? Our plant enthusiasts are getting hands-on experience with the ecosystem and plant life cycles thanks to these fantastic raised beds!

We caught up with some of these green-thumbed students who were busy tending to the plants, and they were thrilled to show off their watering skills and the beautiful plants they had grown. We can't wait to see these gardens fully flourish into something truly spectacular!

We knew Evander Tannenbaum would be back today to wish us a Merry Christmas, but we never expected him to bring friends! This morning we walked out to the Shaver Learning Commons to find Evander, Santa Claus, Rudolph, The Grinch, and Cindy Lou Who playing a competitive game of co****le! Who knew Santa had such good aim?

Before they left, Evander and Santa had some good news to share—everyone at All Saints’ is on the nice list this year! So let's keep spreading kindness and joy.

Merry Christmas to all!🎅🎁

A mischievous tale of elfin antics! Young Evander Tannenbaum found himself in quite a predicament this morning. Yesterday, with a heart full of glee and hands full of snow, he took to the rooftops. But alas, his merrymaking was short-lived. Safety Officer Ted caught him first thing this morning and, with a stern word, informed him of the error of his ways. Yet, fear not, for Evander served his detention with honor, and his name has been restored to the nice list. But what new adventures await us tomorrow? Only time will tell what mischief and wonder await us.

As the sun rose over campus, a chilly breeze greeted us, carrying with it magic snow from the North Pole. The glistening flakes, a gift from the life-sized elf who answers to the name Evander Tannenbaum, danced merrily in the air, enchanting all who beheld their wonder. What secrets will tomorrow's horizons hold? Join us on this journey and follow the trail of .

A roaring thank you for supporting the Little Tigers Trunk Show! Our young entrepreneurs absolutely rocked the 10th annual event! Congratulations to all of them for hosting booths that were nothing short of PURR-FECT and for sharing their pawsome talents with our community!

ASPA and Student Council hope you will join us at 3:15 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, December 7, in Manning Hall and the Memorial Garden for the tenth annual Little Tigers Trunk Show. Students will be selling their one-of-a-kind products, with a portion of their profits being donated to an All Saints’ community partner.

This year's show will feature over 70 students selling everything from jewelry to candles and Christmas gifts to slime. What a fun way to support our creative, business-minded All Saints’ students.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Our fourth-grade students visited the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) as part of their in-depth study of Native American cultural regions. They were fortunate to have the opportunity to discover the art, history, and evolution of Native American flute music with Grammy-nominated musician, singer, songwriter, flutist, and flute maker Aaron White of the Northern Ute and Diné Nations. Students and teachers spent the morning engaging with the artist and exploring the history of the Southwest.

After the presentation, they explored the rest of the MIM, learning about musical instruments from around the world and even trying them out! It was an unforgettable experience for all!

🎄🏠 Check out our gingerbread housebuilders! 🏠🎄

The students in kindergarten spent a morning decorating their gingerbread houses and it's safe to say that they did an amazing job! Now All Saints’ is definitely starting to look a lot like Christmas! 🎅🎁

We can't wait to see what other festive activities are in store for us this holiday season! 🤗❤️

Our second-grade artists have been learning about the Impressionist art movement in their art classes. Hop over to the lower school hallway of the Milisci Building to see their Claude Monet-inspired water lilies on display. The students worked hard at painting with free brush strokes like the impressionists and even finished them by adding lilies with tissue paper!

This morning, we celebrated a successful Trimester 1 with our Middle School Honors Chapel.

One of the highlights of today’s chapel was the introduction of the new Tiger Pride honor. This morning, the Head of Middle School, Mrs. Jennifer Miller, recognized four students (one in each grade 5–8) selected by their grade-level teachers as a source of inspiration and pride. These students demonstrate pride in their ability to embrace challenges and care for those around them and themselves.

Congratulations to our middle school students for a job well done!

Thank you to Mr. Hammontree and Ms. Vosler for hosting this morning’s session in our Family Chat series. Their presentation—Yardsticks: Child and Adolescent Development, was excellent and very informative, and the community discussion was tuly engaging. Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning. Don’t forget to check the calendar for the upcoming Chats in the new year.

The Lenhardt Library has had some exciting guests this year! Recently, sixth-grade students had the pleasure of welcoming Susan Lowell, an award-winning author and All Saints’ grandparent.

This visit was especially timely as the students had just completed a unit on realistic fiction. Lowell provided insightful perspectives on the writing process, story elements, and subject selection. She also shared how various things, like a song, another story, or a family heirloom, can serve as inspiration for writing. We are so grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a talented author!

Although Susan Lowell is a fourth-generation Arizonan, she was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and has lived in both countries. Her publications include adult short fiction, nonfiction, journalism, and scholarship, as well as children's novels and picture books.

Hey, hey, hey! Recently, our little campers in Mrs. Benjamin’s PK class celebrated reaching their Gold Card goal with a camping party in the Shaver Learning Commons! 🏕️🔥🎶🍫 It was tents, campfire songs, s’mores, and free dress—Oh, my!

We love seeing the new space used in such a fun and creative way!

Our pre-kindergarten students welcomed a special guest artist, Miles McDermott, to their classrooms this week. Miles is a talented local artist who works in multiple disciplines, including art, furniture, photography, and website design. He is known for his love of polka dots and much more!

As the students prepare for their annual art show and learn about famous artists, Miles discussed with them how artists also design letters. He engaged the students in an activity where they created their own letters that represent unique sounds. The young alphabet experts were thrilled to learn from Miles and enjoyed the creative exercise.

Today, the second-grade class celebrated the completion of their heritage projects with a feast, which has become a beloved tradition. Each family contributed a traditional dish from the culture they had researched and presented their findings on. This was a fun and tasty way for the students to learn more about their heritage.

It was a perfect morning for our first Open House of the season. We loved welcoming so many prospective families to All Saints’!

Attending an Open House is a great way to explore All Saints' and find the best fit for you and your family. If you or anyone you know is considering All Saints’ for the 2024–25 school year, please click the link in our bio to learn more or register for an upcoming Open House.

Today was a special day for our young students as they welcomed the critically acclaimed author and illustrator Susan Stockdale to our campus! Susan talked about her books, "Line Up! Animals in Remarkable Rows" and "Stripes of All Types," inspiring us to make connections with our art, writing, and research projects at All Saints'. We were thrilled to have her join us, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Donnelly for making this Visiting Author presentation possible!

Thank you to our Spanish Department for bringing the celebration of Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) to the All Saints' campus! The team lead our community in commemorating this significant day with various events throughout the week.

All week, our middle school students presented an "ofrenda," or altar, in Manning Hall. The display showed a range of works created by our middle school students. Faculty, staff, and students were invited to bring a small framed photo of a loved one/pet who passed away to place on the "ofrenda" in their honor.

On Wednesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Zarco Guerrero and his unique masked characters as they celebrated Día de los Mu***os with humorous and moving storytelling. Zarco performed his Show of Masks, where each character he portrayed was connected to the celebration.

Today, we were treated to the musical talents of Mariachi Luna de México during our lunch periods. Students who know some Mariachi songs, like "De Colores" and "Cielito Lindo," were encouraged to sing along.

Our fourth-grade students spent the morning at the Heard Museum, where they immersed themselves in learning about the tribal nations and communities of Arizona and New Mexico. They extended their social studies work outside of class and explored the exhibit, HOME: Native People in the Southwest.

During their visit, the students had the opportunity to view material from the Ancestral Pueblo as well as the Hohokam. They also viewed and discussed a wide range of historic and contemporary works of art by the Hopi, Navajo, Apache, and O’odham peoples. This exhibition showcases a diverse range of Indigenous creativity including pottery, baskets, jewelry, and Hopi katsina dolls.

🎨 Our third-grade students have been busy creating their own cubist faces inspired by the artwork of Pablo Picasso! Using recycled cardboard, they built their faces with multiple layers and painted them in bright colors while paying attention to maintaining a human-like quality to the eyes. 🎨 Lastly, they added extra details using paint pens and oil pastels. Each child's artwork is unique and wonderful, paying homage to the cubism style of Pablo Picasso. We're so proud of our talented young artists!
