Meet Principal Kara Hodge!

The Legacy Traditional School - Surprise campus holds a special place in Principal Hodge's heart. She helped open the campus for its first year in 2015, the same year she began teaching. She then served as instructional coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal before leaving to help us open our Legacy Traditional School - Deer Valley campus. She's excited to be returning to LTS - Surprise for the 2022-23 school year!

Born and raised in Arizona, Principal Hodge graduated from Northern Arizona University. She is married to her high school sweetheart, with whom she has two beautiful children. When she's not at school, you might find her spending quality time with her family, attending various extracurriculars with her children, or vacationing in Cabo.

Principal Hodge was recently honored as the Legacy Traditional Schools' Patrick Grady Principal of the Year. She wants parents to know that she's always available when help is needed.

Dr. Angela Chia-Chen Chen and Lihong Ou from the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, Arizona State University are recruiting parent-adolescent (aged 11-14) dyads to learn about factors associated with decisions to vaccinate children and adolescents against the COVID-19 and experience about the vaccination and resource seeking.

We are hoping to recruit 16 parent-child dyads (regardless of child’s COVID-19 vaccination status) by 6/15.

As part of yesterday's festivities, Legacy Traditional School - Deer Valley held a classroom competition. The 22nd classroom to call the office at 2:22 p.m. won an extra 22 minutes of recess! That sounds 2 good to be true!

Send your kids here only if they are always good at school. This school will unenroll your child if their behavior is not perfect. They will accept your child who may or may not have a disability. Then if they don't like their behavior they kick them out. Charter schools play by their own rules. Sure nice looking on the outside but it is what is inside that counts.

Chess Club is being offered by Magnus Chess Academy Starting August 22nd. Each Class will have a 20 to 25 minute lesson in a classroom setting. Then students will get an opportunity to play chess and practice what they learned. You can register at
