🫧 Bubble Fun + Learning Through Play! 🫧

Today was full of joy, wonder, and lots of bubbly fun at Norterra Play School! We kicked off our morning with circle time, singing our Days of the Week song and proudly saying the Pledge of Allegiance together. These daily routines help build confidence, structure, and a strong sense of classroom community. 💛

Then it was time to head outside and explore the magic of bubbles! The excitement on their faces as the bubbles floated through the air was absolutely priceless. From chasing, popping, and even trying to catch them—our little learners were fully engaged in this playful, hands-on experience.

We also enjoyed time in our outdoor kitchen, stirring up lots of pretend recipes and using our imaginations to create and collaborate with friends. 🌞

Every activity today was packed with developmental benefits:
🫧 Science & Discovery – observing how bubbles form and float
✋ Fine Motor Skills – gripping bubble wands and kitchen tools
👀 Visual Tracking – following the movement of the bubbles
💬 Language Development – talking about what they saw and experienced
🤝 Social Skills – working together, sharing space, and building friendships

At Norterra Play School, we believe the best kind of learning happens when curiosity leads the way — and today was a perfect example of just that. 💫

🌊🧜‍♀️ More Mermaid Week Magic! 🧜‍♀️🌊

Our imaginations dove deep today as we continued our mermaid adventures with so many fun and engaging activities!

🧠 The kids had a blast playing a mermaid-themed memory game, matching their favorite sea characters and sharpening their focus and cognitive skills.

💪 We also practiced our fine motor skills using mermaid-themed lacing characters — carefully weaving string in and out of colorful sea animals. It’s amazing how much learning happens through play!

Our sensory table was a big hit again this week, filled with squishy kinetic sand perfect for:
📝 Making our names in the sand
🏰 Designing amazing sandcastles
🏠 Using magnet tiles to build magical mermaid homes
💎 And, of course, searching for buried treasure!

We are soaking up every moment of Mermaid Week and watching our little learners shine! 💕🐚🫧

🧜‍♀️✨ Mermaid Week Magic ✨🧜‍♀️

This week at Norterra Play School, we dove deep under the sea for a magical Mermaid Week! 🌊🐚 The kids had an ocean of fun exploring courage, creativity, and sea life through stories, crafts, and sensory play.

📚 We read:
💜 Lola and the Courage Bracelet – and talked about what it means to be brave and have courage.
🧜‍♀️ How to Catch a Mermaid – which had us all giggling and imagining underwater adventures!
🎨 The Mermaid by Jan Brett – full of dreamy illustrations and wonder.

🎨 Activities included:
✨ Making our own courage bracelets (and sharing what makes us brave!)
🖌️ Painting mermaids, jellyfish, sharks, and sea turtles
🌈 Creating sticker mermaid scenes with their own “ocean water”
🧲 Sensory play with magnetic tiles, sand, mermaids, and gems

Watching their creativity shine and their confidence grow was pure magic. So proud of all our little mermaids and mermen! 💕🫧

Bittersweet goodbyes and new beginnings…
As the year comes to a close, my heart is full. I’m beyond proud of our little ones heading off to kindergarten — ready to shine, grow, and thrive in the world! ✨

Watching them learn, laugh, and bloom has been the biggest blessing, and while I’m SO excited for all that’s ahead for them, I’m also a little sad to let go. Saying goodbye is never easy when you’ve watched their little hearts grow each day.

That being said…
We do have spots open for next year!

Our classroom just got a little brighter — and a whole lot more positive! 🌈

We’ve created a special space where our preschoolers can pause, look in the mirror 🪞, and speak kind, powerful words to themselves every day.
Whether it’s “I am brave” 🦁, “I am kind” 💖, or “I can do hard things” 💪 — our little learners are building confidence and self-love, one affirmation at a time.

This cozy corner is a daily reminder that their voices matter, their hearts are strong, and they are more than enough.

I am kind. I am smart. I am important. I am me — and that’s amazing! ✨

This week in preschool, we’ve been practicing positive affirmations — reminding ourselves that we are worthy 💖, loved 💕, and capable just the way we are! 🪞

From mirror talk 🪞 to morning affirmations ☀️ and kindness conversations 🗣, our little learners are growing confidence from the inside out!

Because self-love starts young — and we’re here to cheer them on every step of the way! 🌈

Paramedic Tristan to the rescue!
Today, our very own Tristan suited up as a paramedic and saved the day in our dramatic play center! 🚑❤️ He quickly responded to an emergency, caring for our classroom babies with gentle hands and a big heart. From checking temperatures to giving hugs and bandages, Tristan made sure everyone was safe and sound.

He showed all of his classmates how to count during CPR when someone is unresponsive 🧠⏱, how to call 911 in an emergency ☎️, and explained how paramedics take very good care of people until they reach the hospital — where more community helpers take over.

With calm leadership and a caring heart, Tristan reminded us all how important it is to help others and stay calm in tough situations.

Way to go, Tristan — our little life-saving hero!
