☕🦅 Desert Horizon’s First Cafecito – A Wonderful Success!

Desert Horizon recently hosted our very first Cafecito with Mr. Madrid and Mr. Hancock, and it was a fantastic morning of connection and community!

We were proud to welcome our families into our new Community Room and Student Services Building. It was great to see so many families in attendance as we gathered to enjoy coffee and snacks together.

During our time together, we:

✨ Answered questions from our families
✨ Strengthened our partnership with our amazing community

We are so thankful for the continued support of our Desert Horizon families. When we work together, there is nothing our Eagles can’t accomplish!

We are incredibly proud of our 6th and 7th grade students for their strong performance at the District Science and Engineering Fair. Their hard work, curiosity, and commitment to scientific inquiry were clearly evident in their projects.

A special congratulations to our 7th grade project, “Hot or Cold, Which Is Gold?”, for earning 3rd Place at the district level! 🏆 This outstanding achievement has earned the team the opportunity to advance to the West Impact and Arizona Science and Engineering Fair.

Thank you to our students, teachers, and families for their dedication and support. We look forward to seeing our students continue to shine as they move on to the next level. Way to represent our school with excellence!

Who's got talent?! Desert Horizon does! Our talent show consisted of 35 students, 14 teachers, 17 acts, 10 different talents, 4 shows and 1 amazing day / evening! We are so proud of our talented eagles!

Desert Horizon recently hosted our middle school science fair! 6th and 7th graders worked hard on their projects and we even had some 3rd graders join! We are incredibly proud of our students for their dedication, perseverance, and creativity throughout the science fair project process. From brainstorming ideas to conducting experiments and presenting results, they demonstrated strong work ethic, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to learning. Their hard work truly paid off, and it was inspiring to see them apply scientific skills with confidence and enthusiasm. Well done and good luck on the District Science Fair next week!

Talent show auditions will now take place on Thursday, January 22nd and Monday, January 26th, after school (3:20-4:00pm) in the gym. Any and all acts (school appropriate) are welcome to tryout. Students wanting to audition may choose which day to attend. They do NOT need to attend both days. The talent show will take place on Friday, January 30th - times are still being finalized and will be shared asap. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Henderson.

Attention all 6th-8th graders: If anyone is interested in cheer, cheer tryouts will take place Tuesday, February 3rd and Thursday, February 5th, after school in the gym from 3:20-4:00. ALL athletes must have an updated physical and all forms completed to participate.If you did not do cheer in the fall and need paperwork, need an updated physical form or have any questions, please see Ms. Henderson BEFORE tryouts. All paperwork should be completed by February 3rd.

🦅 Desert Horizon was proud to host families at our annual Winter Luncheon!
It was wonderful to see so many families come out to enjoy a meal with their Eagles. The food was great, but the company was even better.

🦅 Desert Horizon Eagles Soar High! 🦅

Desert Horizon Eagles celebrated our young eagles during our Winter Award Assembly! Students were recognized for their academic excellence and amazing behavior, and we were proud to have so many of our Eagle family members join us to support their young eagles.

It was wonderful to see so many students honored for their hard work and dedication. I’m excited to see what the next semester will bring!

🎬❄️ Winter Movie Night at Desert Horizon! ❄️🎬

Our Desert Horizon Eagles had a wonderful evening hosting our Winter Movie Night! Many of our families came together to enjoy a showing of The Grinch, filling the night with laughter, smiles, and school spirit. 💚

A great time was truly had by all! A huge thank you to Ms. Knapp, our amazing teachers, and our dedicated Student Council for all their hard work in making this such a special and memorable evening for our community. 🦅✨

🌵🦅 Desert Horizon Spelling Bee 🦅🌵

Desert Horizon held its Spelling Bee today, and our amazing students went round after round tackling some incredibly difficult words! Every participant gave their best effort, and we are so proud of all our Eagles who stepped up to compete.

We’re excited to announce that we crowned a Desert Horizon Spelling Bee Champion, who will go on to represent our school at the district spelling bee in January! 🎉📚

A huge thank-you to all the Eagles who participated and to our dedicated Spelling Bee team for putting on such a great event. 💙✨
