The first language to Kenyan children is usually the child’s tribal language( mother tongue). Swahili is the second language to many Kenyan Children. It is taught and examined in schools as a compulsory subject next to English. In a country with over 40 tribal languages, you can speak to anybody in Swahili and you will be sure they will understand.
