Roots in Bloom

Join us for our Roots in Bloom Hiking Crew! Starting tomorrow, 2/24 and continuing every Tuesday through March (location will change)! We will be coming together to exercise, make friends, explore nature, and build community.

Location for 2/24 at 10am: Recreation 11 area 19226 N Tatum Blvd

We have 2 adults present to accommodate all ages and ability levels. This allows some kids to run while others take a slower place. Also, we will be learning about multiple native plants on tomorrow’s hike! Can’t wait to see you there ❤️🌵

What a beautiful and fun-filled Tuesday at Saguaro Ranch Park! ☀️🦚 We enjoyed some great parachute play, intuitive painting, and a scavenger hunt that was adapted so both readers and emerging readers could join in. The kids had smiles on their faces and stayed engaged the whole time.

Each Tuesday, we'll gather for a mix of fun activities including games, crafts, and a delightful picnic.

⚽️ Games
We'll have a blast with games like nerf wars, scavenger hunts, volleyball, parachute games, and capture the flag. The exact activities will depend on how many of us are there and the age range, so we can decide together!

🎨 Craft
Let's get creative with nature-themed art! We can make leaf portraits, try some leaf stenciling, and create habitats from what we find around us. We'll also have some simple projects like canvas painting and face painting that the kids can lead.

🧺 Picnic
We'll provide a small snack, and please bring something to share if you'd like! It'll be a great chance to chat and connect. We'll have conversation starters on hand for anyone who feels a bit shy at first.

The vision is to build a community of friends where everyone feels welcome. We'll keep things flexible and fun, letting the kids help shape what we do based on what sounds exciting to them!

Our garden is taking shape! 🌱 Over the past few weeks, we’ve painted our sign, made compost, cleared rocks, dug a garden bed, and planted carrots 🥕💚

Every morning, the kids start their school day by caring for the garden, learning about responsibility, respect for the earth, and food sovereignty. 🪏🌍 💫

We can’t wait to see it bloom along with our students! Follow us for updates on upcoming classes or reach out if you'd like to see if your student is a good fit for our crew. We have a few spots open.
