Our 4th graders had a great field trip earlier this month!

Students visited the Champaign County Courthouse, where they explored the Abraham Lincoln Museum and met with courthouse staff to learn more about the judicial process and how our local court system works. Afterward, they enjoyed lunch at the park before heading back to East (beating the rain by a few minutes).

Great job by our 4th graders representing Unity, and special thanks to our East PTO for sponsoring our field trips!

Every Friday at Unity East, we celebrate the hard work of the week with a little extra school spirit, music, and fun!

On Rocket Fridays, students are encouraged to wear their favorite Rockets gear or show their school pride by wearing maroon, gray, and white!

Students are greeted out front with music and one of our favorite Friday traditions—Fist Bump Fridays! 👊 We’re often joined by special visitors from Unity High School who come over to welcome our students as they arrive.

So far this year, we’ve welcomed members of Student Council and the football team, and tomorrow we’re excited to have members of the cross country team joining us!

Over the years, Rocket Fridays have included visits from the high school drumline, athletic teams, musical groups, and clubs—all helping our younger Rockets feel connected to the entire Unity commUnity.

Go Rockets! 🩶🤍🚀

Tomorrow is Illini Day at East and across the district!

The Fighting Illini kick off their football season with a home opener tomorrow, so we’re celebrating with some orange and blue spirit at Unity East!

Students and staff—wear your orange and blue and help us cheer on the Illini! (And be sure to keep an eye out for Unity’s own Dane Eisenmenger wearing #12!) 🚀

Let’s show our Illini and Rocket pride! 🧡💙

Go Illini! Go Rockets!

Hard work deserves a celebration!

A record 53% of East students completed their summer practice packets this year and we celebrated their effort Friday with pizza, ice cream, and an extra-long recess!

Practice makes progress, and putting in the work pays off! We’re proud of our Rockets for keeping their skills sharp and showing their commitment to learning. 🚀

A big thank you to our families for supporting our students all summer long!
