Philippi Elementary and Communities In Schools are seeking community volunteers for a Career Exploration Day!

Our goal is to introduce students to a variety of careers, trades, businesses, and opportunities that exist within our community. We are looking for professionals who would be willing to share information about their work and help students learn about different career paths.

We welcome interest from all fields, including healthcare, public safety, education, agriculture, skilled trades, business, transportation, arts, technology, and more.

Volunteers would have the opportunity to speak with students, answer questions, and share what a typical day in their profession looks like. Hands-on demonstrations are encouraged but not required.

If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please contact Elizabeth Rebrook, Communities In Schools Site Coordinator, by emailing at [email protected] or calling at (304) 314-2604.

Together, we can help our students explore the many possibilities that await them i

🤠✨ PES Celebrates Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 Day! ✨📚

Today at Philippi Elementary School, we celebrated Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 Day with a day full of reading, cowboy hats, glitter, boots, and a whole lot of Dolly spirit! 💕🎶

Literacy and books have always been incredibly important to Dolly, so we paid homage to her love of reading by making sure every PES student received a book of their very own! 📖❤️ There is nothing quite like the excitement of getting a book and knowing it belongs to you.

And our teachers were treated to a little “Cup of Ambition” to keep them going throughout the day! ☕️✨

What a fun way to celebrate literacy, learning, and the incredible impact that one person’s love of books can have on children.

Reading, rhinestones, boots, and a little Dolly magic made for a pretty special day at PES! 🤠📚💗

As the Communities In Schools (CIS) Site Coordinator for Philippi Elementary and Kasson Elementary, I am working to better understand the needs of our students and families so that I can provide the most effective support and resources possible.

If you are a parent or guardian of a student at Philippi Elementary or Kasson Elementary, I would greatly appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete our Family Needs Assessment. Your feedback will help identify areas where CIS can provide resources, programs, and support to better serve our school communities.

The survey is short, and your responses will help guide future services and opportunities for our students and families.

Thank you for taking the time to share your input and for helping us build stronger support systems for our children!
