On Thursday April 30th, Breakthrough hosted our annual Spring Soiree, and it was a blast. We exceeded our goal of $150,000 by securing $171,000 in gifts and pledges. We had a record high in attendance, specifically on non-anniversary years! Now, let’s see if we can make it to a new goal, and reach $175,000 by the end of today! Use the link below to bid on the last few auction items still open for bidding. Help us fund another year of programming and continue to uplift our community!

This past week, our College Bound Scholars had the privilege of traveling to Atlanta for an enriching and inspiring college tour experience. During their visit, they explored several historically significant institutions, including Morehouse College, Spelman College, Morris Brown College, Clark Atlanta University, and Georgia Tech. Each campus offered a unique perspective on academic excellence, cultural legacy, and the many opportunities available to students as they pursue higher education.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Jarian Kerekes and the Equitable Foundation for making this opportunity possible. Their support plays a vital role in expanding access, opening doors, and empowering our students to dream bigger and aim higher. We are truly thankful for their continued investment in the growth and success of our Scholars.

SAT prep for our College Bound Scholars in 11th grade resumes this weekend—and we couldn’t be more excited to get back to work!
A huge thank you to The Lubert Family Foundation and Leo Model Foundation for making this opportunity possible. Your continued support of the Breakthrough mission allows us to provide our Scholars with the tools, guidance, and confidence they need to succeed.
Because of your commitment, we’re not just preparing students for a test—we’re helping them build brighter futures and unlock their full potential.
