Rising Sun Children’s Center (RSCC) is a state-licensed, non-profit, non-sectarian, privately owned and operated facility. We offer preschool programs designed for each age group and also participate in the, Keystone STARS program. Our rating as a STARS Level 4 is a testament to the high quality of our program and staff. We are also active partners with Child Care Information Services (CCIS) and participate in the PRE-K Counts and PHILA PreK program.

MISSION:
Rising Sun Children’s Center provides a quality preschool curriculum working towards meeting the Early Learning Standards for Pennsylvania. The main goals for the pre-school program:

•To provide a flexible framework of activities that will motivate the child to investigate and explore their surroundings, within an environment that may be adapted to meet their individual developmental needs.
•To contribute to the child’s social, physical, emotional, cognitive and communicative development by providing a research-based curriculum that encourages learning through independent and interactive discovery.
•To advocate equal opportunities for all children and their families irrespective of gender, race or disability and reflect such policy as an integral part of the curriculum. Furthermore, the aims of Rising Sun Children’ Center intend the child to gain confidence and curiosity to learn without fear of failure, to acquire a sense of achievement through the mastery of skills that will foster independence and increase self-esteem, and to feel valued as an individual and as part of a social group while leaning to value the needs and beliefs of others.

Pre-K Counts Lead Teacher:
Pay: $23 - $25 per hour (depending on experience)

Educational Requirements for Pre-K Counts Teacher:

Have a minimum of BA/BS in Early Childhood Education.

Must have a Pennsylvania Department of Education Instructional Certification for Early Childhood Education.

At least 1 year of experience teaching in an educational setting.

Job Type: Full-time (10-month position) Summer off with paid.

Pay: $23 - $25 per hour (depending on experience)

Essential Responsibilities and Standards of Performance

Use understanding of child development as the foundation of work with young children.

Effective pedagogical approaches include developmentally appropriate practices along with the use of curricula and PA early learning standards to create meaningful learning experiences for children.

Support the mission and philosophy of the program
Develop and maintain respectful and collaborative relationships with families.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Conduct yourself as a member of the early childhood profession.
Support center staff and leadership in maintaining high-quality standards and achieving enrollment goals.

Familiar with TSG / Creative Curriculum.
Be familiar with Keystone STARS standards, DHS regulations, PA Early Learning Standards, and Creative Curriculum.

Responsible for classroom management and supervision of children at all times.
Responsible for the overall classroom management, leading a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
All applicants must present at the time of hire current PA child abuse, PA clearance, NSOR certificate, and original FBI fingerprints along with a completed health assessment and TB Test.
