Hats off to the teachers. We couldn’t be more proud or impressed with the work happening in Need in Deed classrooms- Last night we were blown away hearing teachers share their stories.

And on top of that, we had so much fun and raised a lot of money for Need in Deed classrooms. Over 2000 students will benefit.

The Need in Deed community really came through in style.

We’re still beaming. ☺️

A highlight from this year’s Shout Out was Lisa Yau’s 5th grade students at Francis Scott Key School who investigated grief and loss, a subject close to their hearts. Students reflected on their own grieving journeys, how they’re helping fellow students, and the tools they’ve learned for healing. Watch the video for a powerful excerpt of their presentation.

On June 3rd, middle school students in Ms. Cantarini’s classes at C.W. Henry held a rally against redlining and gun violence, and for food and housing security. Local politicians, artists, civic leaders and community members including and came out to join the rally and stand up for justice. Students created this civic action as part of their year long work with Need in Deed.
