📣 Your Voice Shapes Special Education in Pennsylvania

We value your thoughts on how we can work together to improve education for our children. Your family has a unique opportunity to help shape how schools involve families in the special education process — and your input can make a real difference!

✅ How it works:

• Our school is part of the State Performance Plan Indicator 8 survey, designed to learn how schools support family involvement in education.
• In just FIVE MINUTES, you can answer five questions and share your opinion.
• Watch for a postcard in the mail with your personal survey instructions. Not all families will receive one — if you get one, it's your chance to make a difference!

Need help? Request assistance, a paper survey, or a different language version right on the survey site.

No internet? No problem! Call ConsultLine at 1-800-879-2301 and they'll mail you a survey.

Your answers are confidential — our school won't know who participated, but your input will help shape special education services across Pennsylvania.

Every response counts. Don't miss your chance to make YOUR voice heard!

Bracetti Community! 🐾

Did you know about our PAWS service project?

Once again, MBA has partnered with the Frankford Community Development Corporation to assemble and distribute Care Kits for Philadelphians.

Collections have been ongoing but we need your help to collect as many items by March 20th!

We are challenging our community to bring in at least one item!

Bracetti Families,

We recently received notification from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and their contractor regarding upcoming infrastructure work on the Frankford Avenue Bridge over Frankford Creek.

This project includes rehabilitation of the bridge and associated utility work.

This work is part of a larger PennDOT bridge rehabilitation project and may cause increased traffic, delays, and congestion in surrounding areas, particularly during student drop-off and pick-up times. We recommend planning extra travel time and considering alternate routes to and from school.

Here are key details you need to know:
🐾 Start Date: Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 16, 2026.
🐾 Road Closure: Frankford Avenue will be closed between Torresdale Avenue and E. Hunting Park Avenue
🐾 Duration: The full project is expected to last approximately one year (through early 2027, weather permitting).

Detour Information: Signed detours will be in place. Southbound traffic will be directed to use Torresdale Avenue/Erie Avenue, Castor Avenue, and Sedgley Avenue. Northbound traffic will use Pike Street and Kensington Avenue.

Our school operations, including arrival and dismissal procedures, will continue as normal unless adjustments become necessary due to traffic and safety conditions. We will monitor the situation closely and communicate any changes promptly.

For more information on the project, including official detour maps, please visit: https://www.pa.gov/agencies/penndot/projects-near-you/district-6-projects/valley-park-road-over-anderson-brook-bridge-replacement0

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and patience.

Bracetti Families-

Tomorrow, Monday February 23rd, MBA will be closed due to the impending winter storm. This is a traditional snow day for students and staff.

Please note, this is different from the School District of Philadelphia who is using a virtual day of instruction. Should snow accumulations require additional days out of the building to support the city’s clean-up operations, safe traveling, and SEPTA operations, MBA will utilize Flexible Instruction Days (FID).

Please make sure you closely following our social media accounts, Class Dojo School Story, and checking texts/listening to our auto-dialer messages. Stay safe and warm.

Bracetti Families- we are excited to return to in-person learning tomorrow, Thursday 1/29.

Delays, route adjustments, and longer wait times are likely as drivers navigate safely under current conditions.

For that reason, MBA will operate on a 2-Hour Delay tomorrow, 1/29.

Students should arrive 2 hours from their normal arrival time. Doors will open for SA Breakfast at 9:45AM, JA Breakfast at 10:00AM, and EA Breakfast (Grades 1-5) at 10:15AM, and Kindergarten Breakfast will be at 10:45AM. Senior Academy exams have moved to a one-day exam testing session, on Friday January 30th.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
