Repost: Founder's Hall Museum at Girard College : Today, we recognize an important moment in Girard College history.
On September 11, 1968, six students entered Girard College following the end of the school’s race-based admissions restrictions, including the first four Black students and two students of Asian descent to attend the College.
Their arrival represented the beginning of a new chapter for Girard after decades of advocacy for greater access and equality.
Fifty-eight years later, we honor this milestone, those who helped make it possible, and the generations of students who have shaped the community since.
