Thursday, we proudly celebrate the FIRST cohort of young male leaders who successfully completed the KB Foundation, PHENND, and The Alexander Advantage 7-Week College & Career Readiness Bootcamp, followed by an intensive 2-Week Entrepreneurship & Business Plan Development Program! 👏🏾🎓💼
Throughout the program, these young men strengthened their leadership, communication, professionalism, career exploration, interview readiness, financial literacy, and post-secondary planning skills. They also expanded their entrepreneurial mindset by developing original business concepts, learning the foundations of entrepreneurship, and building strategic business plans.
One of the most impactful highlights included witnessing their transition to one-on-one coaching from Promise Corps, as well as watching each participant confidently pitch their business ideas to professionals from KB Foundation and PHENND, along with distinguished guests Bry Burrows and Carlyne Graham. Their creativity, confidence, and growth were truly inspiring!
This program was more than career readiness—it was about empowering the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers. We are incredibly grateful for the collaboration, mentorship, and collective commitment poured into these young men throughout this journey.
The future is bright, and this is only the beginning. 💫

This past Thursday, our College & Career Readiness Bootcamp was powerful. 🔥
We had the privilege of welcoming Williamson College of the Trades and additional influential guests to speak with our young men about alternative career pathways—proving that success doesn’t follow just one route. ✨
What stood out most?👇🏽
The room. 🙌🏽
Sophomore young men leaning in, asking questions, engaging with intention. Parents showing up, listening, supporting, and investing in their child’s future. That kind of environment creates real impact.
We’re grateful for partnerships that expand vision and for the momentum we’re building together—one session at a time.
The future is being shaped right now. 🎓

📚✨ We’re officially underway!
Yesterday marked the kickoff of our Free Library College Prep Series at the South Philadelphia Library, and we couldn’t be more excited! Our first workshop focused on Reading & Writing for SAT Success, where students dove into strategies for breaking down complex passages, identifying key themes, strengthening grammar skills, and approaching the essay with confidence and clarity.
It was a small but mighty group—students showed up ready to learn, asked thoughtful questions, supported one another, and leaned into the challenge of leveling up their skills. This is exactly the kind of energy that leads to real results!
And we’re just getting started…
Throughout this series, students will also gain access to:
🎓 Scholarships 101
💰 FAFSA Completion Support
🏫 College Fit & Planning Guidance
All workshops will be hosted across various library branches throughout the city—making college prep accessible, engaging, and FREE.
