THANK YOU's are in order to the Market House Museum for posting these fabulous pics of the "Xela Wins at Keeneland" Mural Ceremony. The "Xela" quilt is now on display at the Market House Museum. What's the connection here? Plenty! Our sponsor Mike Cappock is also on the MHMuseum board and Museum director Linda Job Schmitt has been an enthusiastic supporter of the QCUSA Murals project. That's just how we roll here in Paducah Creative City.

From Fabric to Floodwall: Xela Wins at Keeneland wins a spot on the Quilt City USA Murals project!
We are proud to announce the newest addition to this murals project exclusive to Paducah Creative City. Come by the Convention Center and have a look, read the history, and take a selfie at this fabulous reproduction of Deb Lyons' art quilt. BTW...Deb was both quilter and muralist. We were proud to have Sponsors Mike Cappock & the Cappock Family, Xela's trainer Jake Zecor, and Jake's mom and fiber artist mother Patience Renzulli in attendance at this fun event!

A beginning, an end, and everything in between.
In August 2024, Lead Artist Char Downs began priming the panels for Mary’s Mural featuring a vintage Grandmother's Flower Garden: Diamond Field quilt. Since then, in between her painting sessions, she experienced a hip replacement and sustained serious injuries after a fall while working on the mural. With a little help from her friends, Char put the last stroke on the mural canvas on April 12, 2026. But it's not over yet. She's sealing it and getting it ready for installation. Save the date, June 11, for another important announcement about the Quilt City USA Murals! Here are the names of a few of Char's Friends who helped get her through to the end: Stefanie Graves Deb Lyons Richard Glasscock Jay Siska

Could it be? Yes it could.
Something's coming, something good,
If I can wait.
Something's coming, I don't know what it is,
But it is
Gonna be great!
