SCH "Blue Devils" Athletics “Athletic Culture at SCH”
The goal of the SCH Athletic Program is to provide a “Championship Culture” experience for the entire SCH community.

This “Championship Culture” is the result of every individual’s pursuit of excellence in everything they do - whether it be at practice or in a game. Our Championship Culture is defined by Leadership, Vision, Core Values, Standards and Commitment. Through diligence, teamwork and a program vision from all of our teams, we pursue this “Championship Culture” daily. SCH multi-sport student-athletes who are academically, athletically and socially striving for success are the building blocks for this “Championship Culture”. Coaches and administrators lead to share the responsibility of the entire SCH community (administrators, coaches, student-athletes, faculty/staff, parents and alumni) fostering our culture. The Five Pillars of our Championship Culture

Leadership
Vision
Core Values
Standards of Performance
Commitment

Leadership - SCH coaches are dynamic individuals who work to bring out performance excellence in all of their student-athletes and teams. SCH coaches believe in the athletic vision of the department as well as having their own vision of their program. SCH coaches share the vision for their program through assistant coaches, team captains while also cultivating peer leadership amongst team members. Vision - SCH Athletic Leaders provide a clear vision for the direction of the program. This vision of the program provides direction and strength and guides teams as they set new goals in their quest for excellence. Core Values - Our athletic core values are those principles that serve as the measure of success - regardless of the outcome of the game. Our core values define who we are as an athletic program, not how we did in the contest. These athletic core values are what we believe and stand for and what we strive for on a daily basis. Standards of Performance - The SCH standards of performance are the daily decisions that every athlete makes that will either support or undermine the SCH athletic vision. In order to achieve our Championship Culture, our daily standards of performance must be set very high. In order to achieve this high level of success we strive for, every member of every program needs to support these high standards and not fight against them. These high standards we strive for on a daily basis in preparing as a team must be seen as creating an advantage over our opponents. In other words - “We must be willing to do more than any of our opponents are doing and be willing to make the necessary sacrifices to do so!”

Commitment - Building this Championship Culture in each of our programs and ultimately in our entire athletic program requires each and every one of our student-athletes to believe in the Vision, Core Values and Standards of Performance necessary to achieve a Championship Culture. This means that every student-athlete is willing to place their individual goals aside in pursuit of dedicating everything for the team. By building this Championship Culture in each program, every member of each team will take great pride in knowing that they have been an important and integral part of the success of the program, regardless of their role within the team.
