The recent passage of House Bill 2632 by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives poses a serious threat to school children and families throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This legislation seeks to eliminate the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs. The result would be devastating for school children and their families.

If enacted into law, this bill would negatively impact tens of thousands of students across Pennsylvania who currently rely on these scholarship programs. EITC and OSTC scholarships are funded by companies and individuals who see value in providing families with educational choice. These programs are vibrant, successful, and reduce taxpayer burdens when it comes to educating our young people, particularly those who come from challenging financial circumstances and live in underserved communities.

Parents should have the ability to choose the educational environment that best suits the needs of their children. I am deeply grateful to those who support EITC and OSTC. These programs are vital and no one can afford to see them disappear. I urge our elected officials to work for their preservation without reduction in funding levels.

An FYI from Archbishop Perez about tuition assistance and possible EITC changes in our state legislature! Prayers we don’t lose this funding for Catholic schools!

Please note, this will not affect our SEC families for the upcoming school year, beginning in September 2026. However, it could affect financial aid for ALL families at SEC in the future, including all of the local grade schools and high schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia!

This is a serious concern for Catholic Education, and if you feel the call to action, please contact your local PA state reps! Some reps in this area have voted against our funding, and we need them to know that EITC funds are necessary for Catholic education in PA!

Today our littlest Jags had their closing ceremony! 🎓💙 SEC’s Class of 2035 is on their way UP—moving up to Kindergarten and ready for their next adventure. The future is bright! ✨#secproud🐾💙🤍

Our newest 3rd graders! ✨

We had such a busy and fun filled last few days in 2nd grade!

We made memory bracelets to remember our favorite moments from this year. They turned out so cute!

The students had so much fun playing teacher trivia, looking back on our year spent together, and laughing about all of our jokes.

Then we had classroom awards and enjoyed a cool treat for all of our hard work and effort in 2nd grade.

Finally we had our last day of 2nd grade in 2B. We have grown and learned so much together this year. Miss Flanagan is so proud of each and every one of them. They are one class I will never forget! ❤️
