We provide a second chance for young people looking to earn their high school diplomas and prepare for college and careers. YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School provides out-of-school youth in Philadelphia with the broadest range of tools, supports and opportunities available to become self-sufficient, responsible and productive citizens in their community. Our 12-15 month program gives high school dropouts a second chance to earn their diplomas – through a rigorous blend of academics, on-the-job training and community service – and prepare for college and full time employment. When students are asked what they like most about the program, the most common answer is, "YouthBuild Philadelphia is a family." In addition to our multi-layered support system, YouthBuild provides the opportunity for young people to:
• Earn a high school diploma
•Receive hands-on job training that can lead to high paying careers
•Earn weekly incentives
•Earn a college scholarship
•Receive a weekly transpass or tokens
•Earn a certification in construction, healthcare, or technology - uniform/tools provided
•Prepare for college and career
WHO ATTENDS YOUTHBUILD? YouthBuild Philadelphia is a school for motivated young people who want an opportunity to earn a high school diploma and transition to a successful future. More than 1950 young adults have completed the program since 1992, and our graduates consistently move on to college and full-time employment. Eligibility requirements include:
• You must be between the ages of 18 and 20 on the day of enrollment
• Currently live in the City of Philadelphia
• Officially dropped out of school (transfer students and high school graduates are not eligible)

The application process includes a mandatory information session, interview (May – August), and a eight day Mental Toughness Training for select applicants in August. Admission Requirements
