We are very excited about the interest that has been shown in Penn Law and the Arts this year!
A little about us: Penn Law and the Arts seeks to plan arts programming that educates students on issues at the intersection of law and the arts. For example, last year we went on a tour of the Barnes Foundation and met with the Foundation's general counsel. We also seek to provide students with a way to engage with the wonderful arts community here in Philadelphia; last year, we attended a performance of the dance company BalletX. Finally, we try to showcase the artistic talent of our fellow classmates through an end-of-year art show.
Please apply for a board position! We would love to have help in planning our programming for the coming year. If you are passionate about (or want to learn more about) a particular genre of the arts or arts issue, we would love your input in shaping the direction of Penn Law and the Arts.
Please feel free to reach out to Co-Presidents Jessica Rizzo and/or Emily Ho**er for questions regarding time commitment, etc. If you are interested in applying, please fill out our Google form at https://forms.gle/2nnEXkEqMEq4kZ2e9 before this Monday, September 23 at 8:00 PM.

Dear Art Lovers,
Welcome to Penn Law to all 1Ls and transfers (and welcome back to everyone else)!
This fall, Penn Law and the Arts will be sponsoring a new, one-of-a-kind independent seminar on law and the arts to be led by Mari Shaw, a prominent Philadelphia art collector, author, and former partner at major global law firms including Dechert and Morgan Lewis. Ms. Shaw brings a wealth of experience with the strategic leadership of cultural institutions here in Philadelphia and an exciting roster of arts and nonprofit luminaries to enrich our conversations about the practice of this area of the law.
This is the first time this seminar will be offered, so I’m hoping to gauge interest as we hammer out logistics. If you have questions or would simply like to let me know that you would consider participating, please shoot me an email at [email protected]. Currently, we are envisioning the course being open to all years, for a variable amount of credit (0-3) depending on the scope of the final paper individual students undertake.
