Faith in the Future

Faith in the Future directs the 17 High Schools and 4 schools of special education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Founded in April 2012 as an independent not-for-profit organization, Faith in the Future grew out of the recommendations of the 2011 Blue Ribbon Commission to examine these and other challenges of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. In an historic management agreement with the Archdiocese, Faith in the Future assumed strategic and operational control of 17 high schools and 4 schools of special education, as well as operational oversight of the Office of Catholic Education in September 2012. By strengthening business processes and launching an aggressive fundraising and growth strategy, Faith in the Future led the school system from a projected $6 million in operating deficits to a $1.2 million operating surplus in the first year. These funds have been reinvested back into the schools. Over the past two years, Faith in the Future has stabilized enrollment for the first time in a decade and is projecting the first growth in the system in more than 15 years.

Faith in the Future directs the 17 High Schools and 4 schools of special education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Mission: To provide a high-quality, values-centered education for every student who desires one.

Our hearts are heavy with the sadness of the events that have unfolded over these past few weeks. We pray for an end to racism in all of its forms and peace in our country. We pray for healing to address
The persistent sin of racism
Which rejects the full humanity
Of some of your children,
And the talents and potential You have given.

We pray for the grace to recognize
The systems that do not support
The dignity of every person,
That do not promote respect
For those who are seen as other,
Who bear the legacy of centuries
Of discrimination, fear, and violence.

We pray for graced structures
So children of color in Flint, and all children,
Have access to clean water and health care.

We pray for graced structures
So children of color in Mississippi, and all children,
Have quality education that will allow them to develop their gifts.

We pray for graced structures
So children of color in Camden, and all children,
Have homes where families can live in dignity and security.

We pray for graced structures
So children of color in Chicago, and all children,
Can grow up without fear, without the sound of gunshots.
Lord of all, we ask you to hear and answer our prayers.
Give us eyes to see how the past
Has shaped the complex present,
And to perceive how we must create
A new way forward,
With a new sense of community
That embraces and celebrates
The rich diversity of all,
That helps us live out your call to reject
The sin of racism, the stain of hate,
And to seek a compassionate solidarity
Supported by Your grace and Your love.

We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Congratulations to our AWHS Class of 2020 on a job well done!

This past Monday, June 1, 2020 our Seniors took their final steps as students and turned them into strides toward their bright futures at their virtual convocation ceremony.

Although the last portion of the school year didn't look the way we anticipated, we remain very proud of the Class of 2020 for their continued efforts and perseverance through all the changes that were thrown their way.

Take a look and celebrate with us all that they have accomplished in their time at Wood. The list of awards, scholarships, college acceptances, career paths and more is a long one and we are so proud! #WeAreVikingSpirit

John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School

Over the past two days the seniors were able to come in to pick up their locker items, cap and gown, class photos, balloons, red rose and most importantly, their diploma. It was so wonderful to see them all again!

This class has already done amazing things and overcome many challenges. We're so proud of all they've accomplished. They truly represent what a Hallahan girl is!

We hope everyone will join us in celebrating the Class of 2020 in the virtual baccalaureate mass and graduation ceremony and we look forward to formally celebrating your graduation, in person, in late July! (pending archdiocese approval and government easing on gatherings)

Also, a huge thank you to the Parents Club who provided these beautiful tote bags! We used these to gather each senior's locker items together.

Social distancing was maintained as much as possible and masks were worn except for a few pictures where there was more than 6 feet of separation.

Father Judge High School

On the night before the Class of 2020 was to begin picking up their diplomas, our campus was vandalized. Early this morning, our staff and several alumni volunteers gathered and worked together to quickly to remove the graffiti from school property. We are blessed by the strength and loyalty of our alumni and friends and we pray for peace as well as for the safety of our "Judge Guy" first responders. πŸ”΄πŸ”΅ Non Excidet!
